The reason artists (Mainly the mid and lower tier) is because rap has become so big, you can have no radio play, no videos, nothing and still have a strong fan base that'll come see you live. There's a bunch of rappers we've never heard of running around making a good living off rap music. It's even helped artists older acts like RA the Rugged Man. His protege, that AFRO kid, makes 1500 a show just to open up for him.
