calzaghe best win his against Hopkins, all his other opponents I are whatever, I mean Kessler cool and all but, fukk'em
I think Bhop would've took him a rematch, he ran out of gas in that fight for some reason
but the Roy Jones shyt was a fiasco, fact Roy was even able to knock him down says a lot

Joe's style would always be a bad match up for Hopkins. Joe was just too accurate and thew too much volume. Hopkins was even able to cut down Joe's volume quite a bit ike he does to everyone and Joe still threw over 700 punches. That's why Bernard gassed. Cause the pace Joe cut was harder than any fight Hopkins has ever been in.

He had the same problems with Jermaine Taylor because of the volume and the fact he doesn't throw a lot of punches, but
Hopkins was winning the fight despite that at first until he gassed, it seems after that fight he's legs have been
a lot stronger I guess because of his training regiment
in the Calzaghe fight he was literally holding on for dear life his legs were gone

That was me that said that

A lot of people were impressed with the string of stoppages he had coming into the Calzaghe fight (with the ho hum decision vs. Shieka sandwiched in there). I know the competition was fairly weak but that's what it was.

Truthfully, I think most people were :ohlawd: over his physique and the fact that he was an Olympian
If any of them watched his so-called stoppages, they would've seen how overrated he was.
:rudy:this nikka actually quoted somebody else with that 2nd line and trying to pass it off as if I said it.

nikka trying so hard to argue he can't even quote the right person.:snoop:
My bad - thought you were the dude above the whole time.

Can't believe nobody's mentioned winky wrights domination of tito trinidad. Winky was a 2 to 1 underdog and completely destroyed tito...sent his ass back into retirement. Boxing at its finest. One of my favorite performances.

True, but that fight was also boring as fukk. Winky took no risks against a guy who was past it and who was getting his knees buckled by jabs. That was Winky's moment to become a star and he just settled for being a very good fighter instead. Winky didn't have to be reckless, but he could have easily mixed in some hard lefts, hooks, and uppercuts and at least show people that he wanted to close the show.

I remember before that fight my pops was already preparing me for disappointment because he knew Winky was gonna take no chances and win a decision but me being a youngin didn't want to believe it.

Tito gets respect from me for even taking that fight. Winky was real underrated and Tito's win over a Mayorga who had no business being at 160 made people think he was really back when he was actually a faded fighter. Still that was one hell of an ass whipping.

He wasn't done just a part time fighter, if he was active he could have been very game, he carried his godly pop there at MW, I dont know, maybe Im still in denial, my nikka Tito had to lose to a bum/bytch ass nikka like Winky:to:

Boxing will never reach those heights again, I remember when Tito or OScar was about to fight it would be the talk of the block, and we used to ring like very bell to see who's ordering the fight, the good ole days:ahh:
