If Lacy sucked so much then why were most experts predicting him to walk through Calzaghe?

Was he overrated? Yes, obviously, but he was not a bad fighter by any means. He was a very good fighter that showed glimpses of something special but got outclassed by a better fighter and never recovered mentally.
It's not much different from what happened to Pavlik after he fougt Hopkins. Pavlik did have better wins though

He was a champion so I won't say he was a bad fighter but anyone who watched him against any decent contender could see he just wasn't in Calzaghe's class. That was a clear case of the American media badly overhyping a mediocre pug and underrating a long-time, stready champ.

Dude, there's nothing I can say that will convince you to think that he ever looked impressive. You say he wasn't a bad fighter, but then shyt on the man every other sentence. A good amount of people were impressed by his power and willingness to fight hard and still break dudes down with power late in the fights where he would get out-boxed and struggle early on. Obviously you're not one of those guys that would be impressed by that. Nobody saying he was some great fighter. He was a breath of fresh air in a division that wasn't making noise, but you won't even give him that credit so its...... nikkas just be wanting to argue for the sake of it knowing damn well they not trying see shyt from any other perspective but their own. A lot of people were impressed with the string of stoppages he had coming into the Calzaghe fight (with the ho hum decision vs. Shieka sandwiched in there). I know the competition was fairly weak but that's what it was.
