It didn't help that Calzaghe spent the majority of his career fighting in Cardiff either.he did, but at the same time, nobody was sold on joe except people overseas.

Floyd Mayweather vs Arturo Gatti was the most lopsided fight I've ever witnessed.
Easily
Mayweather vs NdouMayweather/Corrales for me
he was that good...but the man fell in love with his power....the same old story and abandoned his skills just like razor ruddockIncredible ass whipping. Lost in this fight, however, is the fact that Lacy was just never that good to begin with.
I'm not sure what you mean by good. No, he didn't suck. But the man (and his power) were horribly overrated. I saw him struggle with the likes of Rubin Williams and Syd Vanderpool and wondered what the hell was the hype about?he was that good...but the man fell in love with his power....the same old story and abandoned his skills just like razor ruddock
Lacy was you're above average boxer puncher. He had a good strong jab that he didn't use enough and he had a good arsenal of punches. He had a good work rate as well. Thing with him is that he got frustrated easily and he really did fall in love with his power and when that happened his technique would diminish. He'd start cuffing with his hooks instead of turning them over and he'd stop trying to set his shots up. He'd just walk in there and hurl haymakers. When he faced better comp this showed more, but his power still broke dudes down if they weren't durable enough.
Yeah he was hyped and he did have some struggle fights, but nikkas gotta remember that the 168lb division was lame/boring as fukk and was pretty much controlled by faceless euro nikkas. So when you got this young black kid coming through the ranks knocking nikkas out in a division that nobody really cared about since Roy Jones and James Toney were there, of course he's going to make some noise. He did get hype and was overrated a bit, but he made people take notice. Lacy just ran into a much better fighter when he fought Calzage. Plain and simple. I won't shyt on dude because it takes away from Joe's performance plus that fight set the stage for nikkas to care about supermiddle weights again. Everything happens for a reason and it was prolly Jeff's destiny to be a shooting star that burned out quickly. Thinking back, that fight prolly deserves a Legendary Nights type of special for it. You gotta put things into the proper perspective.
Yeah basically. But even then you give him too much credit. He didn't have a single impressive win on his dossier (not if you saw the fights). And the KO's weren't impressive either -- if you actually watched the fights. Just ridiculously overrated. I knew Joe was going to kick his ass.Lacy was you're above average boxer puncher. We get it....you didn't like Jeff lacy.
I basically called it like it was and you still shytting on the man. He beat what was put in front of him in exciting fashion, called out a better fighter and got whipped. To say he never did anything impressive is just hating really. Nobody said he wasn't overrated.
