I feel like they are making BLOPS 3 more futuristic because of shooters like Titanfall/Advanced Warefare and because Ghost was a steaming pile of shyt.:ehh:

Call of Duty Black Ops 3: Treyarch On DX12 Support, Controls, TAC 3.0 And Leaning
Some information from the Black Ops 3 Director of Development.

The Director of Development at Treyarch, developers of the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops 3, has been on Twitter where he gave some frustratingly non-committal answers as well as some informative ones in response to fan questions. When one gamer asked if there would be a leaning function in Black Ops 3, Cesar ‘pcdev’ Stastny simply replied that it is too early to say.
One other fan wanted to know if the game would be launching with DirectX 12 support, to which the dev director said they will be talking about graphical features later in the year. When one fan brought up the issue of hackers that generally spoil the fun for everyone, pcdev told him that the game will be launching with TAC 3.0 and a dedicated team of staffers that will exist solely to keep the game clean of such players.
It has also been confirmed that the control scheme in the game is customisable and that players aren’t locked to a default scheme. Call of Duty Black Ops 3 launches this November for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

According to a new image on Reddit, a user has spotted a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 packaging for a Mountain Dew bottle. The bottle is the Berry Lime Flavor, which has been exclusive to Call of Duty promotions in the past.
Currently, visiting the website listed on the bottle – dewanddoritos.com – takes you to their promotion page, which is for PS4’s Warframe title right now. However, the tag line for the website is, “All year long, DEW® and DORITOS® are teaming up with PlayStation® to bring you closer to greatness with rewards for your favorite games.”

The most notable part of that tagline is the partnership with PlayStation, which may hint that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 may be partnered with Sony for marketing this year; Activision has not confirmed which system or if any system will be getting DLC first for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

In addition, the “your favorite games” part hints that this promotion could extend beyond Warframe to Black Ops 3, if the packaging is real.

We’ll update as we learn more.

Black Ops 3 promises to break COD tradition: “the ‘left trigger, right trigger, dead tactic’ won’t be viable”

671906f61068ecb12a4bbb1feec5a8554cd749ad.jpg__940x420_q85_crop-smart_upscale.jpg

The next instalment in the CoD franchise may look a little similar to last year's future-set Advanced Warfare (we do know the COD studios check out each other's games during development, although we're assured they never share ideas), and its armies of robotic enemies certainly look familiar – but don't settle too comfortably on your laurels, because veteran studio Treyarch is looking to shake-up the tired set-piece formula with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

In the latest issue of Edge, game director Dan Bunting reveals much of this comes from the desire to improve the player's control over the game: "We still push people into choke points and constrain heights, but we wanted to give players an extended mastery curve, to expand the upper limits of how they learn movement through the map,” he explains. “We automate a lot of things. We let players concentrate on the combat; everything else is fluid – it sublimates to a primal part of your brain."

To support this, Treyarch is promising an overhauled AI system, which includes an improved 'nav-mesh' so your opponents have a greater understanding of the environment, as well as 20 different 'mentalities' that define distinct changes in behaviour. "With the greatest reverence and respect for [Call of Duty], sometimes the tactic is just left trigger, right trigger, dead,” says campaign director Jason Blundell. “With some of our new AI archetypes, that won’t be viable. We’ve also opened up the spaces, so you need much better situational awareness.”

Read the headline and was hoping they were talking about quickscoping, but it's just about campaign. :francis:

Call of Duty: Black Ops III coming to PS3, Xbox 360

Last-gen versions have two-player co-op, other changes.

BlOps-3-PS3-360-An.jpg

Call of Duty: Black Ops III was announced in April for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Today, Activision confirmed it will also release PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, developed in collaboration with Beenox and Mercenary Technology.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature the game’s full campaign, multiplayer, and zombies mode. However, there will be some changes, including two-player co-op for the single-player campaign instead of the four-player co-op of the current-gen versions. There will also be other features built for current-gen that are cannot be supported on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
While PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are on the way, Activision notes that there is no version of the game planned for release on Wii U.
The multiplayer beta included with pre-orders for the game will only be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game.

After today’s announcement that Sony now has the exclusive rights to Call of Duty (CoD), the Xbox CoD community is literally up in arms protesting about this marketing decision.
CoD has had the exclusive rights for quite some time now, hence the reason that the entire competitive CoD scene is focused around Xbox.
Trending on all social media right now is the hash tag #XboxOrWeRiot
It’s a very clear message, gamers from all levels, whether it is amateur or MLG level are not impressed. These gamers have sunk hundreds of dollars into ensuring they have the top of the line equipment to play CoD on the Xbox competitively knowing that this is the console that will always have the upper hand as far as DLC goes…………… well at least it used to be.
Why did Microsoft Studios let it go? We can only imagine.
Why did Sony spend all their pocket money a one month timed DLC exclusive, we can only guess.
What we do know is the Xbox CoD community is utterly unimpressed!
Oh did I mention that a petition has already been started http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/keep-competitive-on-xbox

With the new Gunsmith system, any weapon can be tailored to your preference with multiple models for each attachment, distinctive camos, and custom emblems. Multiple attachments and an optic can be added to weapons, giving you the opportunity to build out the ultimate weapon for battle. And on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, the new Weapon Paint Shop feature goes beyond the standard emblem editor and lets players create custom graphics that are displayed on the sides of their guns. With up to 64 layers and three sides to design, players will be able to create their own signature weapon variants with a practically infinite number of possible combinations.

And lastly, there are the maps announced so far:

Combine: Set in the remote Egyptian Sahara, this vertical farming and sustainability research facility plays fast and frenetic with tight interiors, an open middle and a dangerous flank path.
Hunted: This big game hunting lodge is situated beneath a waterfall in the lush mountains of Ethiopia, where rugged terrain opens up to long sightlines and a stealthy underwater pathway.
Stronghold: A high-tech Swiss chateau in the frozen, mountainous Alps, Stronghold has an asymmetrical design with a mix of exposed sightlines and tight, close quarters.
Evac: An abandoned emergency evacuation zone atop an overgrown rooftop in the middle of Singapore’s flooded quarantine zone.
