Weights in conjunction with calisthenics is the best option.

If calisthenics was all you needed then every professional sports team would remove weights from their gym.

They've been starting to.

Trt, resistance bands, plyometrics, stretching.

Hell NFL some NFL teams only squat once or twice per week.

I mix calisthenics with strength training

3-4 Sets of Diamond Pushups 20 Reps
3-4 Sets of Wide Pushups 20 Reps
3-4 Sets of Decline Pushups 20 Reps
3-4 Sets of Dumbbell Pushups 20 Reps
3-4 Sets of Incline Pushups 20 Reps

A variety of pushups work on different parts of your body. Learned from this Youtuber named Austin Dunham

3-4 Sets of Squats

3-4 Sets of Dips

3-4 Sets of Burpees 15 reps. Did this when I was locked up

For cardio I do jogs, bike and dance

Calisthenics are boring as fukk… I do them as a warm up but I couldn’t imagine taking the time to bust out 500 push-ups.

That’s u fam? :mjlol:

Nah, that's not him. That's someone else.

Is the guy in the video wearing that cap because otherwise the floor would be dripping with sweat?

I'd much rather try my luck in a hand to hand fight with a muscular guy with no breath control, than with a guy like this whose doing 1000 burpees straight.

By the way, what's the recommended recovery time after doing this? 1 day? 3 days? 1 week? I feel that if you do it back to back it's gonna break your body down, no?

I give myself 2 days after to recover but I figure once your body gets adapted to it & it feels easy then you can recover faster

I noticed after doing 1000 pushups for so long that I barely need to recover because it got so easy. That’s probably where the guy in the video is at

And anyone who is knocking out that many burpees straight:merchant:

After maxing out like that you need 1-3 days recovery. But recovery doesn't mean not doing anything or utilizing your muscles. It just means going lighter, like a walk.

I've posted this before. Because unlike some cats that be cappin, I actually do this shyt. Every single day.

You burn more calories walking, then you do running, and if you're really doing the calisthenics, especially in reps of 30 or more, you're burning more carbs then you are fat, thus why you need to eat right, and provide your body with the nutrients it needs to continue to build correctly.

There's an ebb and flow though, I don't always bang out my reps consistently, especially if I'm trying to stay in a particular heart rate zone. So if that means I gotta do 10 reps of pushups, then 10 squats, then 10 leg lifts, then 10 dips, then 10 pullups, I'll do that entire cycle over and over again while keeping my heart rate in a particular zone until my workout is complete.

There's days when I don't have to workout in a zone so it's nothing to keep my heart rate at 155 for 55 mins straight.

That and I don't often Max out. When you do that then you can't work out the next day or 2. Always leave a Lil in the tank.

It definitely gets easier. I remember when 125 pushups a day had me sore like a mf. Now 300 a day is nothing. I just feel normal the next day. Also my Achilles heels and calves would hurt running 7 miles. Now it's nothing. Your body becomes acclimated.
