Where It’s Not Safe
Dobyou break the Burpee’s into sets, or just go ham until you hit the # you want?
10 sets of 30

Then raise it by 10 every 2 weeks or whenever I feel like Im ready for the next level

So next up it’s 10 sets of 40, 10 sets of 50

It gives your mind a goal to reach for each set

Or even better, weighted calisthenics >>>

Weights are for pretty boys

but calisthenics are for MEN

I hit my record of 1000 Pull ups, 1000 Push Ups every other day plus 500 crunches/or a 2 min plank 4-5 days a week.10 minute jump rope for a warm up.

I’m at 300 burpees in one sitting trying to get 1000 before the end of summer 2022 and man that shyt is NO JOKE. I be gassed by like 90. Used to be gassed at 10 :mjlol:. And the next goal is to do all weighted calisthenics with a 40 lb vest Pull ups Pushups & Burpees.

I feel more agile, way more functional strength, and my muscles are way more toned. With weights I had bubble muscles but now Im on that Bruce Lee lean muscle tip. Multiple veins & striations:blessed:I can lift heavier things & have way mor endurance. Feel way lighter on my feet.

I also found it raises your metabolism & keeps your cuts for longer than lifting weights. It seemed like with weights I started to lose muscle faster.

And in a fight? Well let’s just say I tested the theory of weights vs calisthenics in a fight & I was surprised at my strength:merchant:my speed and dexterity was on point and my punches were disgustingly strong. My stamina was Piru’ed out I coulda kept fighting for like 10 more minutes with no sweat:whoo: mind you dude was bigger than me & I was drunk. Im even thinking of adding weighted shadow boxing & other boxing workouts to my regime.

And in the bedroom:merchant::whoo:

Dropped lifting weights this pandemic & started doing San Quentin California style prison workouts. No wonder them dudes be so savage.

It’s good you discovered this while you’re young and probably will be better off for it over the long haul

Coli heads, ya think the elliptical is safer for the knees than the treadmill?

Absolutely!

Matter of fact I always tell 300+ lb dudes to get on an elliptical before the treadmill (not saying you're big or anything like that). I'd even do the airdyne bike and battle ropes before the treadmill.

Exercising is all about being consistent and minimizing injuries should be a goal. No need to be a hero if your body is trying to tell you to chill.

I do both :manny:
3 days weights with low impact cardio
3 days calisthenic circuits with a 30 lb weight vest followed by HIIT and prowler presses

You're all a bunch of queers :umad:

Nah breh.

More like calisthenics are for endurance, weights are king far as strength training, and this is from someone who did calisthenics almost exclusively for over a decade till recently.

:ehh:

Functional real world strength? It may depend on your style of weight training… Benching, curls, and leg presses only make you strong at benching, curling, and doing leg presses….

Thats why I added natural workouts by which I mean up hill hiking, swimming, climbing. Yeah you may be able to bench more while doing weights but like all weight training those are isolating exercises and not as applicable as real world uses of strength
