If he was really that he wouldnā€™t had got hired by the cowboys in the first place

I havenā€™t heard guru next to his name but I heard his shyt vanilla, matter of fact didnā€™t he take play calling away from Kellen Moore because of ā€œbalanceā€ to just call the same plays Moore called

I JUST REALIZED YOU MEANT
TO SAY FIRED INSTEAD OF HIRED....

HE DIDNT GET FIRED...

THEY COULDNT COME TO TERMS
ON THE AMOUNT OF YEARS ON HIS NEXT CONTRACT
SO THEY PARTED WAYS

I am kinda warming up to McCarthy as head coach. :patrice:

I worry if Ben Johnson would just become Matt Nagy 2.0.

Valid concern, but Johnson has the paperwork in buffing up Goff in DETROIT of all places.

In what I've passively read/heard about Johnson in regards to Goff himself is that BJ helped him open up his passing mental in brain picking with plays. Johnson apparently takes feedback well and leans into what you see and learn in the play. Other offensive side players has said Johnson tends to work for you, rather than fully needing to adopt HIS strategy. Someone like Waldron apparently seemed to have more of a "let's see where this takes us" free flow approach and Johnson is moreso "how can I get the result I want" in pulling from your experience. Not sure how much of that is fluff because you know how players are in speaking into the fanbase or media. But it does sound like Johnson is ever-adapting.

On the contrary, just looking at how things played out, Nagy was mostly rigid in his scheme. Remember the day Fields got murdered in the Browns game? Nagy felt he shouldn't have to adapt the playbook to going from Dalton to Fields. He expressed knowing the need for a better run game, but didn't incorporate it. Or the "I didn't come here to run the I-Formation" like in one of the post games. He's not an idiot. So on.

There is/was the goof of having Reid be the salesman. Nagy was apparently the most HC-ready on his staff. Probably true, but he let his own belief in himself destroy himself. :manny:

My biggest fear for Johnson is becoming someone like Gase at worst, and Fangio at best. Neither were good at the HC position, but Gase hella flamed out and Fangio seems to be running the rest of the race as coordinator.

Bears need somebody who will return the team to respectability and develop the qb :dead:

nikkas acting like a wild card level team isn't an improvement to this dumpster fire. If they are stagnant at 10-11 wins in several years cool, at least they are now a competent team

tomlin and his record are damn near identicial
Then after a couple years of nfl purgatory the bears will go back to the drawing board trying to find a coach and a qb

Purgatory ainā€™t winning the nfc north anytime soon, purgatory probably means a losing record to the packers, purgatory is not respectable in the nfl

Emo? Gloom and doom?

I donā€™t give a fukk ultimately, but yā€™all can hype the bears up once again over Mike MacArthy of all people, he had more talent in the cowboys and ainā€™t do a damn thing and he supposed to elevate a bears team who canā€™t seem to draft worth a damn

Wasnā€™t the bears supposed to be a playoff team this year according to you and some other posters in this thread?

Iā€™m going insane from this shyt but what was the reaction when KC hired Andy Reid? My memory (could be wrong) was like ā€œah that dude was a good but heā€™s past his prime and does a lot a lot of bonehead clock management stuffā€

Maybe thats McCarthy too and heā€™s still got a ton left to offer? I donā€™t know.
