Fields dikk riders are taking a victory lap but Caleb rookie season is better than any year Justin was here

It should be. Caleb's had way better pieces and a much better playbook. Also, I do think Caleb will end up the better QB, but he hasn't been otherworldly as his sales page said... yet. I stand by Caleb, I just feel he would be overcoming these larger problems by now.

But, just like Fields, Caleb's problems are exacerbated by the coaching staff (ironically, better than what Fields has except for the rookie year) and the abysmal O-Line performance. One things I feel Fields had better was the run/RB game, partly due to his own legs. But I also think the RB room was better. :yeshrug:

I was of the ilk to trade the #1 pick for even bigger hauls to plug the O-Line but do with that what you will. :hubie:

You really think Waldron is much better than Gesty :mjlol: both are :trash: Why do yall act like fields was playing with bums last season :mjlol: I was one of the people who thought Mooney was washed because how he performed last season and he's on his way to a 1000 yard season both have a terrible oline and both had awful offensive coordinators Caleb does have better weapons due to Keenan Allen and swift put can we stop pretending that fields didn't have anything to work with :francis:I was the biggest fields supporter on here but to say a rookie QB was to out perform a third year veteran is crazy to me that means you think fields isn't a good qb and is a career back up I don't even want to shyt on fields but we all had high expectations for fields last season he looked like :trash: as a passer

I think Waldron's playbook was better since it wasn't so heavily biased on YAC (screen-o-mania). This is what got Getsy yeeted from two places in calendar year. When Brown called plays using the Waldron setup it for sure looked a ton better. But this all goes back to coaching. And I do reaffirm coaching has stifled both QBs.

But, I also feel Caleb has had a much better team in place. I don't think Fields teams were complete bums - I think I've said it that the team underperforms in both eras and I think the personnel is better than the record states. Again, a lot of that is due to coaching.

Being honest Caleb's had it better on the offensive side. :yeshrug: Fields was just able to lean on the run and bypass a lot of shyt but otherwise I think he had it far worse. I also think panning fields for not taking the jump and overcoming bad coaching to net wins, yet letting Caleb slide when that's what the box said before you got him is unfair to BOTH.

As for Mooney, just chalk it up to another player finding success with a sensible coaching staff not built on weekend golfing nepotism from your agent's list. I don't like that it happened to the Bears, but it shows the importance of being able to coach these dudes whether it be in play calling or in execution. That CEO shyt doesn't work. The next guys have to coach.

I think people just have a short memory.

Fields was terrible in the fourth quarter. LAST YEAR. not his rookie year.

Caleb has to work on his accuracy, its ass. And its still higher than JF's was any year he was here :dead:

I'm certainly not letting him slide, I'm just giving him the same grace I gave JF for literal years. This org is fukking garbo and until they get a real culture setter at coach it will remain as such. Games were not lost just because of JF, he certainly helped but was far from the biggest issue. same as Williams. you can't look at the decisions this staff has made the past several years and believe there is a shred of competency there.

If Ben Johnson comes here and Caleb is still playing sporadically between great and ass then yeah thats not good but I'm not about to dogpile crodie his rookie season when we let JF rock for years defending him thru thick and thin

nikkas swear dudes got agendas against Justin for some absurd reason when we was on crash out missions defending him the whole time he was on the bears. I even made that head ass thread "Caleb is a less athletic fields..."

:mjlol:

nobody dislike that nikka, he just not some world beater for one and for two he isn't on the bears so who cares what fantasies you can come up with on if he would have stayed here this year.

I'm not dogpiling Caleb. I'm just applying the same level of restraint I did with Fields. I dislike about both because yes they both have their own issues, but both are suppressed by Bears coaching and the mistakes from the GM down.

I don't hold it against Fields for not being able to overcome Eberflus AND Getsy in his time here. It is hard to overcome organizational dysfunction, let alone the extra difficulty modifiers in the Eberflus staff that was set with Getsy. Some people feel he should have exceled despite that, but I'm realistic about it. I don't expect anyone to succeed under those conditions. And you see it with Caleb's suffering.

Despite Caleb being billed as "you win because of Caleb" prior to draft, or all the checks written by the media in camp and preseason about the instant progress that will be made offensively, I don't hold it against him for not succeeding beyond the Bears organizational dysfunction. I don't expect a rookie with Flus' coaching and his staff selections to immediately excel. It is unfair to hold that expectation.

With Caleb's supposed instantaneous transformative presumptions, sure there's some underwhelming feelings with how he ends up playing, but that would be mitigated and better ironed out with good coaching, as good coaching does. We saw glimpses with Brown at playcaller, like we saw glimpses with the varied and scripted opening drives with Fields.

Both QBs have their own issues. But I don't hold either QB as the problems or having the fault of, simply because the coaching here is terrible.

Now, where people might fork out is when I say Caleb had the better team than any of what Fields had under Flus. People are free to disagree but I don't see how it isn't true. :hubie:
