Cacs did ruin the culture but not reselling cacs more like the brand cacs themselves people been reselling even back in the early 2000’s when bootlegs and knockoffs were wild.

But now these brands wanna make it hard to get shoes and allow bots to move out the regular buyers and now the whole shyt is fukked

Yep Nike did this to help inflate the price of the shoe and to drive the want for the 50 million retros they release.

Yup I'm not an expert but this is how I see it. Cacs, Asians and plenty of black folks too have been in the rare sneaker collecting/resale game for decades.

The difference now is that Nike copied the exclusive business model to sell regular ass Jordans that black folks had been wearing since the 80's

Cocktail sucking resellers of all races ruined sneaker culture along with just being able to cop a system at the store.
Couple of these leeches in this thread juelzing away.

You know the game is completely fukked up when you can’t even get a GR on release because so many damn people have bots and are buying up 100s of pairs.

Can’t even go to a Foot Locker for the latest without a hope and a prayer. I started buying sneakers again this summer after a long ass time, and seeing some weirdo cac with 300 pairs of Jordan 4s after you struck out online due to the apps “conveniently” logging you out and not remembering your login is frustrating. It shouldn’t take THIS much effort to get some nice kicks.

I blame these cac sneaker influencers like Harrison Nevel and Foamer Simpson. :hhh:Being a sneaker head used to mean something. These cacs have no authentic nostalgia for any of the sneaks they are charging up the resale for. Us 80’s babies remember when many of these Jordan’s and shyt originally came out. And most of our parents weren’t copping hundred dollar kicks at a time when kids were getting killed for Jordan’s and Starter coats when the crime rate was at an all time high in every city. I remember being a freshman in high school and nikkas hooping in the original Jordan 12’s, 13’s and the OG foams. :wow: These cacs wasn’t with me shooting in the gym. But then again, nikkas forget Nike was founded by a bunch of swagless white dudes from Oregon. :skip:

The thing is though that most cacs who gentrified the sneaker game have no real drip. They don’t know how to dress at all. Back when I was in high school, had to know how to dress. You had to have coat game, sweater game, leather game, pea coat game, gortex game etc. etc. These cacs now getaway with thinking they got drip off of hype and logos on hoodies. In the late 90’s and early 2000’s, shoes game was limited to mostly Timbs and Air Forces and whatever new Jordan dropped that year. Retro’s weren’t released every week or even year back then.

From what I see, this is a trend with cacs. In a couple years, being a sneakerhead and super hypebeast will be looked at as corny amongst cacs. If it hasn’t already. Definitely seen as resurgence of wiggas the past couple years. :mjlol: They haven’t realized how game goofy they look yet. Literally everything these cacs touch turns into a meme. The “urban” style is only the icing on the cake. It was the movement behind Hip Hop that made the style pop. You can’t buy style because true style is an art and the best art comes from pain. :francis:

Exactly. And no one is talking about the impact that extreme reselling has on MSRP.

Company A has done extensive market reseach and determines that the price for their new kicks should be $90-$110. So they releases them for $100. Only bots by them and resell them for $150. The resells sell out.

Company A notices this and realizes that they have "undervalued" their product. Next wave they sell for $140. Bots buy them out, sell them for $190... they sell out.

Conpany A is like :jbhmm:.... "lets see something". releaae a 3rd wave for $200... double original MSRP for the same model.

Bots dont get all of them, they get like 30%. But the other 70% still sells out to actual consumers who have been waiting a year to buy the product from the company and not a reseller.

Now... with the above example, does anything company A will ever return to selling that product for $100 MSRP? NO. That shyt is done for. At lowest its gonna be $150.

If anyone follows the GPU market this is pretty much what happened. Im not saying this is immoral... or even economicaly wrong... just saying it has a real world impact. Extreme reselling and artificial demand has always impacted real world prices.

It's just hypebeasts period. Unrelated but kind of and I might make a thread about it but I went to Best Buy before work yesterday and saw a dude walk out of there with I know about 10 xboxes and PS5s. There was a lady that went there to buy one for her kid for Christmas and I was there for something completely different, well this dude bought all the ones they had left and this lady was damn near in tears because he wouldn't let her have ONE of those 10 or more to buy he told her he'd sell it for 900.00. She looked like she was considering it but I was in line and I told her I went to high school with the LP manager at another Best Buy but it's a few miles away so I called him for her and they were sold out too which I assume was the same guy because he said a dude just left there and bought them all and described him the same as the person that just left. He said they will get more Friday and he'll put her one of each aside so she can choose what she wanted. So I got her info I even told her I'll meet her there since it's close to my house to make sure they're there so she won't waste a trip. Anyway I said that to say sneaker hoarders and console hoarder and even with clothes, the shyt is getting out of hand. Even at Best Buy I didn't think they'd sell more than one per person but I guess if you got the money then whatever.
