Gen Z kids and StockX is what ruined it. You had white and asian sneakerheads even back in the day, but don't as many as black folks. We were more upfront about our love for shoes

Back in the day, you had a racial style divide.
That you really don't see today everyone wears the same thing now

Not like there is now....in the 90's wasnt no asians out there like that....once they got into hip hop that was it....
That's a bit of a hyperbole statement. Granted that the American Asian community really wasn't a thing in my area growing up but I know in Japan and China air max and new balances was and still is popping.

The sneaker culture was always trash nikkas camping for sneakers, nikkas killing for sneakers :trash:

Cacs always wore these shoes how the hell do y’all think these shoe companies were making all this bread :heh:

Off the strength of white middle America where do you think the statement “Republicans buy sneakers too” comes from

It's amazing how many people just forget that the original Hypebeasts were Asians.

That word doesn't even really get used anymore cause what they started doing became so common place and condoned.

I went to Finish Line today and randomly saw the Jordan Low 11’s on the rack and dude said that was last pair size 13 & since it’s the season of giving i immediately thought of one of my best friends who wears a 13 and remember him telling me he was trying to get them when they released but to no avail. So I copped and gonna ship them to him. Nothing to do with sneaker culture except to say fukk the resell game that shyt corny.

I'm not going to complain about resell culture as I'm in on it as well and quite honestly, a lot of us are. We just aren't on the level of other resellers out here.

If you could easily flip something for hundreds of dollars by just putting a label on a box, then you'd do it too and would be lying if you insisted otherwise.....
U make it sound like flipping shoes some advanced skill:mjlol:

Many people could be doing that and dont for many different reasons...

I dont cause i dont give a fukk about it and not interested

Whenever I wear OG AJ 1 colorways it's always the older cacs in their late 40s / early 50s who come up to me and tell me how they had a pair back in the day. I also distinctly remember cacs being in line with me on both early Saturday mornings and when I skipped school to cop pairs before Nike stopped weekday releases. I bet anyone who grew up in any major city saw the same thing.

The thing that ruined sneaker culture is the internet. That exposed it to ALL cacs. Including those in the midwest and small southern towns where it would usually take years for trends to hit.

When things became a hustle that when it all went to shyt. I get lucky more often than not when it comes to releases. You know how many times people get mad because I score to rock and I’m an 11.5 which is one of the “money sizes” as they say. One guy looked at me like I was an a$$hole for buying the shoes to wear and not to resell.

Corporations don’t care because to them their products have sold out no matter if it’s in the hands of someone who gonna resell it or someone’s child who wanted it for x mas. I mean, get ya money but this reselling shyt is corny. A lot of times people sit on shyt for years cuz they think they are the next Benjamin kickz or somebody. I wanted a PS5 but I ain’t going through the hassle of it. My boy had 4 of em and try to sell me for $900 and that was the homeboy discount. Cats really think they are “business men” or “hustlers” or entrepreneurs because they think they gonna make capital off of children’s toys and games. Y’all wack. Sometimes it’s bigger than the money. Let that mother get that PS5. Not everything is a hustle

This has been the strategy since they decided to enslave us to provide work labour, fetishes, cultural enlightenment and innovation. They still use the same manual, whether it's art(Picasso and many others)), music (jazz, rock n roll, funk, hip hop, house, reggae etc) fashion and even our fenotype. Every aspect of our attributes is for sale and will be sold right back to us like they invented it
