You may be reading too deep into it. Are you sure its not because the us market is saturated with its own native robot franchize? Gundam just sounds silly when compared to transformers.

Keep in mind gundam( despite being slighlty older) crossed us shores around the same time the old transformers cartoons were running. And we got our first live action transformers movie before the gundam live action film got to american shores also. Its just a really bad market segment. I've never been to Miami, but I wonder if this is a similar dynamic that Las Vegas has...

Demographically they are similar, there isn't a large black population that lives in either city. And both are also international tourist havens, so in addition to other foreigners, theres black people from across the world and North America who are in large number in both at any given time...

Vegas is only 11.5% black, but it sure feels blacker than that. You definitely see a level of representation in Vegas that feels more significant than that, so I wonder if the same thing is true in Miami. You've been to both, do you see a correlation?

Sacramento isn't the tourist draw if either but similarly, you see black people all over the city, it feels blacker than 11.4%...

And this is why I stay hard on this topic, this board is notorious for people saying they go to Los Angeles and "see no black people". I know that city much more than I know LV and places like Miami I haven't been; there are huge swaths of LA where you'd see damn near nothing but black people. LA definitely feels blacker than 7.8%...
