All of this "not in a black household" bs has nothing to do with the fact that their music has been played everywhere since before most of us were born. I'm black, my parents don't play Eagles, but I have a television... I've seen movies, I've seen commercials, etc. You've heard Eagles playing in Walmart, in the damn grocery store. You know who they are, whether or not you realize it. If you haven't heard any of their music at all it's because your parents had you shackled to the furnace in the basement - or you're 12 years old and naive.

I don't watch much white television or white cinema.
I usually don't pay attention to music that's played in Walmart or grocery stores. and when I do, its usually not a rock song. and even if it is, its not like they announce the name of the artist that's being played. LOL.
with that said, theyre a white group that sold tons of records, so im sure ive heard their music played but never knew who they were or cared to know. the bottom line is that their name carries no relevance amongst black people.

and only I brought up the household, because that's the best shot that a lot of us would have of knowingly hearing an eagles song(and its a LONGSHOT).

and youre obviously in your feelings about this. I listen to classic rock, but for the life of me I've never understood the appeal of the Eagles. Never like them as a band. Used to hate when Hotel California would come on the plant radio as it would fukk up the entire vibe. Especially after a music block that went from Hendrix, to Zeppelin, to AC/DC, to CCR, and then finish off with Hotel California. I hated that.

A lot of their shyt has the same vibe, where the sound and perspective aren't distinctively different from song-to-song, but this joint, while a deviation from how they were perceived, managed to capture their sound on a grander scale. Especially the lyrics:

I've been waiting for a woman who's a little of both
And I can feel her but she's nowhere in sight".

The dude that wrote the majority of their material also said this was his favourite of all their songs.
