Bushwick, Brooklyn, NYC in 2015

Yeah, North Brooklyn is finished. Williamsburg, Ft. Greene, Bushwick, Greenpoint, Park Slope, pretty much gentrified to the point of no return. Williamsurg doesn't even feel like a real neighborhood anymore.

Crown Heights, Bed-Stuy, Prospect Park, Bay Ridge, are next in line...they're moving further down south into
Brooklyn...little by little.

Ridgewood is on it's way...simply because of the way it borders Bushwick. Queens...seems like it's on it's way to becoming the next victim of gentrification. Already hear about hipsters in astoria.

Bay Ridge is wayyyyy down there. These whites are trying to get the easy commute. It would take over 30 minutes on the train to get down there.

I'd like to see how easy it would be for these cacs to venture into Brownsville, ENY, or Canarsie.

Bay Ridge has been a White hood since before 2001, when my sister lived there.

That's what you're saying until your home gets its value artificially inflated so that you can't live there anymore.

The predominantly black neighborhoods in New York City could have been made nicer and safer without kicking out the majority of the people who lived there.

What people are saying between the lines when they say that gentrification is good, is that minorities are unwilling to take care of their neighborhoods.

It's why Spike Lee kinda has a point when he yells out "We've been here!" when he sees the trash finally being picked up and the police finally taking calls ONLY when the community became white.

And look who took offense to what Spike Lee was saying....
David Byrne (of Talking Heads fame) said the same thing...more or less...no backlash or hurt feelings.

They even spraypainted/vandalised his townhouse after that.

Y'all really need to look into the nature of revanchist gentrification.

I'm not sure you understand the true definition of gentrification then. Bayridge will not be gentrified like the other lower economic neighborhoods were.

a big problem is bushwick right now is hipster street artists trying to take over. bushwick has historically been a graffiti mecca, and to see this street art bullshyt pop up is just sad. fortunately locals like Zexor are holding it down (yes i realize that is a Maspeth address)

shyt happening in denver too, old hood im from is now full of cac cafes, dog bars ( bars for people to bring their dogs ) vegan spots and just overall cac madness. every other second theres these people walking their dogs, everywhere. riding some stupid looking bikes like they own the streets. shyt done changed. buying 2 bedroom 1 bathroom , 800 sq ft crib for 500 k. shyts crazy.

Same thing is happening (happened) to DC.

I lived near that area in DC off of Rhode Island Ave and saw it happening...it was literally all black everything.....one day you see dog walking, jogging....and I'm sure that area is probably right near 50% black now
