I think this is gonna happen all over the country.

Rich people living in overpopulated megacities.

The suburbs and rural areas are going to be hell for EVERYONE.

That Atlanta thread has me somewhat optimistic that maybe that city, or even that entire state of Georgia, may became a true "safe haven" for black folks. Because everywhere else is finished.

White folks only stick to certain areas here and its areas that have historically been white anyway. Certain areas have been gentrified but theres not much they can do. White folks stray too far into certain parts of town have become statistics. That shyt happens all the time here. They can keep the few areas they have

Not a problem if you own your home.

The price of a home only matters to the owner if they want to borrow against it or sell it.

We can get into the history of why black people don't own these neighborhoods, but ultimately we don't own them, so we can't really complain when we can't cash in on or are victims of their increase in value

The predominantly black neighborhoods in New York City could have been made nicer and safer without kicking out the majority of the people who lived there.

What people are saying between the lines when they say that gentrification is good, is that minorities are unwilling to take care of their neighborhoods.

It's why Spike Lee kinda has a point when he yells out "We've been here!" when he sees the trash finally being picked up and the police finally taking calls ONLY when the community became white.

ok you make some fair points..but I think some people in here are not thinking on that level and just on some I grew up there kinda shyt and now the area has more white people that feel safe and I dont like it mentality.

^^^bolded exactly right. This wouldn't happen if people owned their homes. Sure taxes always go up on their properties but they could take advantage of this. My in laws grandparents rowhome off Wilson and Halsey damn near worth almost a million. They bought it when they came to America from Barbados back in the 60s.

nikkas just don't understand the concept of ownership and just think that renting and chilling in the same area, is cool. Not cleaning it up, not finding a way to solve day to day problems, some people are just content on not taking matters to their own hands and practice generational wealth. Its not where you been at that matters, but its what you own and how well you take care of it.

shyt happening in denver too, old hood im from is now full of cac cafes, dog bars ( bars for people to bring their dogs ) vegan spots and just overall cac madness. every other second theres these people walking their dogs, everywhere. riding some stupid looking bikes like they own the streets. shyt done changed. buying 2 bedroom 1 bathroom , 800 sq ft crib for 500 k. shyts crazy.

I'm still fukking laughin at some white broad joggin around jackie robinson pool the last time I was up there. my dad, grandma, and grandaunt all stay in the same co-op complex at 147th and 7th Uptown and seeing cacs increase there through the years everytime I visit is hilarious.
