Tim Howard was
masterful for the United States in goal Tuesday against Belgium. Howard turned away the Belgians time after time -- 16 times, in fact -- keeping the Americans afloat.
For his efforts, Howard was honored with being named the US Secretary of Defense. Well, kind of. Well, not really at all, but someone edited the Wikipedia entry.
The page was quickly edited back to its original state, but there's more! A White House petition has been started to rename Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to "
Tim Howard National Airport." As of Wednesday morning the petition had just over 2,000 signatures. The airport's name will likely remain the same, I'd guess.
Howard's 16 saves were the most in a World Cup match in the past 50 years.
