to be honest, the bulls got a starting caliber center (who's still young) on a decent contract in return for :rose1:

calderon was just a throw in to make the salaries match, and if grant amounts to anything, then the bulls will have came up on the deal. we will have to see.

Brehs, Butler was one of my most liked players. Is this dude really an ass like that?

I like to talk mess about Rose but dude seems like one of the more genuine and likable dudes in the league.

I genuinely don't think there was beef. I believe Jimmy is a humble ass dude, Rose doesn't seem like someone who would even dignify shyt like that.

They both just played their games.

What I think he meant by "it had to be one of us" was that after missing the playoffs he knew there would be some drastic changes on the roster. Pau and Jo are FAs so it was literally down to the two of them. Or maybe his camp literally told him one of them would be traded.

Him vs Jo, I definitely believe though.

What's getting to me

Is that those clowns in NY that we pretty much owned in the 90s and for most of the 2000s

Are potentially about to assemble the roster we could have put together if we had a gm that was good at his job

Rose , noah , melo, they bring afflalo back or sign another defensive wing (jimmy) porzingas (niko)

And maybe a legit threat to the cavs, or least clearly 2nd in the east smh.

rose is going to do a number of things for this to happen:

1. stay healthy
2. be a better playmaker
3. convert at a MUCH higher clip at the basket

I'm sure he'll try the best he can, but who knows if it's possible at this point. hope he can do it tho.

Melo in the past was traditionally like this ..( people also forget what he was like it AI )

From all reports this wasn't so much the case last year ..whether that be because of his comeback from injury ..buying into the system

I guarantee under hornacecks coaching and derrick and melo each wanting to win badly there won't be same issues we saw wit jimmy and rose

Plus melo had a skill set that jimmy doesn't

A reliable and.consistent jumper ..its not the same

the thing is we gotta see if rose can play with melo, who like jimmy is a ball stopper in the post.

Rose needs a work horse scorer next to him to prolong his career, similar to how wade, who was dealing with injury issues needed lebron.

I don't even agree that It was this dynamic between rose and jimmy on why it didn't work

Hoiberg didn't implement a offense that had a lot of motion. Our off the ball movement was atrocious

On top of that we were hell bent on running the offense through the bigs when we should have been running it through rose and jimmy. It got all the way to the end of the season when we finally saw them run some kind of 2 man game

So if the offense is not ran through noah and people are moving and cutting in the offense, rose and melo will be fine.

It especially holds well in the playoffs and half court sets.

Even non Chicago media was saying teams were asking the Bulls to throw in a first round pick to take him on, they were saying they were shocked the Bulls were able to get what they get.

I'm not sure what you think the market was for a guy that hasn't been healthy in 5 years, will be seeking a big contract at the end of the season and would only resign with probably about 7 teams.

He knew after the shytty year they had, after the press conference GarPax had at the end of the season, that the team was gonna move one of them. So when he got that call, he knew the person calling was gonna tell him that either he and Rose got traded.

What likely happened is the front office once again deflected the blame of the failures of the team off themselves and instead of looking at fred hoiberg and his Mr rogers style of coaching and had jimmy buy into the rose vs jimmy bullshyt and they probably behind closed doors Told jimmy the team was his. And that is likely where that comment comes from.

But this is making a sensitive issue that is being made worse

And if jimmy does not ball and excels to mvp consideration levels and over achieves similar to the 2011 bulls, jimmy is going to catch a ton of heat.

Even more so if Rose stays healthy and balls out
