Many black artist in that time gave love to white knockoffs because it opened doors for them to make more money,performing in front of white audiences. I wasn't messing with her past 1991 and of course when the crazy stuff started happening to her I really didn't care. I ended up in a Azealia Banks rabbit hole one night and I was finding myself liking pretty much every song I clicked. She is talented and came in with a different style from what was/is hot. I don't know how or why she ended up becoming what she's known as today but man that woman is pretty talented to me. She's not a great rapper at all to me but she can sing and she's got some good songs to me. It's just sad how we are supposed to be mad at Bruno when artists like Banks and others are just dropping music and don't get celebrated like they should.

obviously it was pennies compared to what their white counterparts were getting to perform in front whites,but from the perspective of artist who weren't being fairly paid they were appreciative. Which is why I said the same mistake shouldn't happen twice,yet we still see this today. Black artist actually selling their souls and pandering to whites for pennies,in comparison to what white counterparts are making. At least black artist back then got to keep their soul in tact,just lacked knowledge of contracts or were flat out robbed in most cases.

But it is an insult and rewrite of history,when blacks today try to pretend blacks back then were pushed out of anything,we weren't pushed out of shyt by whites. They stole from us and made money among there people while we made money and saw success among ours.

Now obviously you can't compare black buying power of the 50's to black buying power of today,so there is really no excuse for us to even be tempted to make the same mistakes our predeccessors did,other than pure greed and not seeing the bigger picture. The only difference is there was more black ownership and segregated black communities at the time so our dollars were more likely to go to black people. If we had the heart to segregate ourselves we wouldn't be dying broke today,so thats a mute point,theres no excuse now.
