Again, doggy like i said in my post i dont mean to disrespect and shyt what you young brehs have going for you. I understand you were born and raised in an environment and had to make the best out of what you had under pressure from both your haitian family and trying to fit into AA culture for social purposes. I was 16 when I arrived in America Permanently And even before I was here permanently i'd visit the US and saw how Haitians were treated so I understand how the whole Zoe pound gang started in order to retaliate and survive.
But just like dude in the video, I just object to the way some of them brehs represent us in front of the world while waving a flag that represents so much more TO ME.
But again, do you.:hubie:
Just saying a good amount of those "AAs" in Southern Fl are actually Bahamians.

Not for me to say. I just know most Haitian parents do not approve of Kodak like behaviors.
But you won’t say no because you’re not the person to say no or you’re not comfortable saying yes?

One thing that pisses me off about people is people trying so hard to appease cacs and out the same spirit, be like fukk cacs.

Let’s not act like real Haitians on the island aren’t wilding but over here, your nose is in the air and blame any negative thing on my people for simply not conforming.

Never said they weren't. They have got arm gangs over there doing dumb shyt too. My issue is with hard working Haitian parents. Parents who work multiple odd jobs to take of their asses and raise them only for them to adopt criminal like behaviors and not do shyt with their lives.

I am not blaming anything on AA, you assume I did. Ever since I left Miami I have only been around AA's. They are all hard working individuals.

My issue is with those who decide to be gang members instead of doing better than their parents.

Did the Dominicans, Colombians and Cubans down there look down on Haitians too?
It's expected of Dominicans. Never had any issues with Columbians. Maybe they didnt care for us but they werent preying on us either. Same for cubans

Blah blah blah. Believe what you wanna, doggy. I'm not saying there werent beef here and there but as a whole...

You dont think i knwo a bahamian accent vs an American accent, breh? I worked for Discovery Cruises for 2 years. I should have many babies in Freeport and Nassau but especially freeport. As a matter of fact the neighborhood i lived in i had a jamaican household on my right and across the street. A venezuelan household on the left but on the other side of it were 2 house and one across from it. All Bahamians. We got along fine. + this other cat i used to play ball with was Bahamian. I was more than familiar with the accent.

No matter where you;re from as you try to assimilate into a culture and use their language there are still certain words where you pronunciations gives it away when they are not paying attention and especially when they are among their own kind. Hide it all you want it will come out. Very few people can totally hide their accent and that takes linguistics coaches to teach you that.

You can say "blah... blah.. blah..." all you want but acting like AAs were the only ones targeting Haitians is unrealistic. And going by accents is silly because Bahamians been assimilated in Southern Florida since Jim Crow.... Some of these Bahamians even claim African-American. From what I heard from Bahamians THEMSELVES(especially the Amerianized ones) there were rifts. Southern Fl stopped being a AA stomping ground since the 50s-70s.

Accents is the problem because yall assumed everyone with an American accent was AA. So its hard to say Haitians/Zoe culture in FL was majority influenced by AAs. A good amount was Bahamian.

IMO the "Zoe" culture is just a Haitian version of the Mexican Chicano culture of Southern Cali.

@Meh @Intruder v3.0 @HaitianPattyFromNYC
Guess you could call it that.

I guess born Mexicans probably dont care to be called "chicanos" the same way i dont care for the term Zoe. I was in Costa Rica in 2015 and was chilling with these chicks. All tourists. One of them was obviously latina and i asked her where she was from and she said "Mexico" to which i said "ahhh la chicana!" and she corrected me and said "No papi. Mexicana!":martin:. Meanwhile my mexican jumpoff of 10+ years now refers to herself as a "chicana"
Homegirl was thicker than a bowl of oat meal like them brehs be saying :banderas:

Doggy i'm not saying Americans are the only people that despise haitians. We are by far the most despised group in the new world and noone is even close. But I went to North Miami Beach Senior high tho i lived next to North Miami senior High and played basketball at Cagni and Pepper park so i had access to both. IN GENERAL, there werent much beef between Haitians and Bahamians from what i recall back then. Dont know if in your years there something came up between the two communities but not when i was there

I'm just saying people need to look carefully when speaking of AAs in Florida because many of those "AAs" may actually be Americanized Bahamians who been there for a long time. Bahamians are probably the oldest Caribbean group in America. Hell, look at Sidney Poitier for example. I'm going by what other FL cats told me.

I love the place since i lived ther efor 18 months. But that time i was actually back there on vacation with some friends who asked me to come along with them .

There is a small haitian population there near the Guadalupe neighborhood of San Jose. One lady there named Rose owns a supermarket there now. She Haitian. We ended up smashing when i lived there in 2011. Lots of Jamaicans too BTW. Go to El Pueblo on a friday night and you'll see.

Breh all i can say is the people i knew were AAs and mostly heard other haitians complain about AAs jumping them. Haitian and Bahamian brehs werent sitting around the campfire holding hands singing kumbaya but i never heard of them actively preying on haitians. IF the mofos claimed to be AA and repped AA why the fukk would i try to categorize them as something else? I mean really, tell me.

As i have told you guys i personally knew a kid who jad just moved here like myself at the time that committed suicide from getting teased and beaten almost on a weekly basis. All this because he was haitian, dark skinned as hell, had a real hard time learning the language and was small. I wanna say this hapenned in 1996.

Above the fray.
Posted this a few times in different sections of the board. Lot of misinformation was being spread about different groups of Blacks by YTers and by board members, Here are the facts about the 5 largest Black immigrant groups in America as determined and presented by the US Census Bureau.
