last i checked Creek separates the two cities. and saying you're from the streets of Coconut Creek is also laughable. but he did have some valid points :ehh:
You right. But coconut creek is skinny North to South. Won't take but a little bit to get from East Margate to Golden Acres(where Kodak is from) or Western Pompano.

Above the fray.
What did Kodak say?

But he's right , tho about the Nipsey stuff and especially starting around the 12:45 mark and on. Some of them young Haitians who grew up in the US be confused as fukk and just looking for someone to rally around to have some sense of pride. Personally i've never liked nor took part in the calling ourselves "Zoes" thing. I'm Haitian. Not a Zoe. But i respect that it's their movement so it is what it is. But them cats just be rallying around haitian flag but couldnt recite a single line of the Haitian National anthem let alone understand what that flag stands for.
A couple of them are my own cousins and her husband and their friends. :heh:
Not that i'm hating on a younger generation or anything as i understand them cats parents either failed to teach them their own culture so they've got this hybrid half AA half haitian cultural theme going for them. Or they were trying to fit into american culture so hard when they were younger and didnt care to learn from their elders.
"Zoes" are just Haitian vagabons.......has nothing to do with AAs or American culture.

Yeah, my point was to showcase the only OG backing kodak in the situation wasn't even Haitian.

But damn...:russ: You never know who you're gonna see in the hood. Was this in Liberty City? Trick seem like the type to just hang around people's cribs in the hood.
I wanna say this was on 47th street NW but not too far west, tho like way before 12th ave NW. They were having a cookout. This was way before everything got gentrified of course. I wanna say this was definitely after 2001 but before 2005. I also once saw Edgerin James at a cookout

Trina was cool peoples, tho. I wanna say that's the woman that made me the freak that i am today and thus why i'm so into AA women :russ:
We had lost touch after 2003 but last year we connected again on facebook. Been talking about getting together to fukk for old times sake.
You never forget the first woman you nut in  Especially if she the type that would suck your dikk on the beach while others walk on by looking (it was at night but still)

THis wasnt meant to be a disrespect but when i mentioned AAs i was talking about their style and attitude which mimics South Florida hood AAs. From the way they talk to the whole "gold grille" (gold teeth) thing to riding donks with "candy paint" and on and on. Those styles have never really been a haitian things but were very popular among South FL AAs. Again, them cats grew up in the United states so their whole style and manners came from growing up in American environment.

And i know you're gonna say cultures evolve and i agree but a lot of that evolution comes from how other cultures influence and impact it. Prior to the 80s the external influence mainly came by way of african nations we had alliances with like Senegal and Guinee and Benin. See music artists like Larose, Dadou Pasquet and Coupe Cloue and how they dress. Also latin American culture had major major impact on Haiti. It wasnt until late 80 and on that the Anglo (english speaking cultures) started to impact haiti.

Thus why I laugh when people in the US wanna associate us with Jamaicans. I always tell them our foods and culture is more closely related to Cubans than it ever will Jamaicans. I Understand why they feel that way. BecauseIn America people tend to look at the color of your skin first to determine anything about you.So did look at Jamaicans and HaitiansAnna somThere is so many formularies is (which there are) but our cultures and our foods and others are close to black cubans than jamaicans

You caribbean brehs who were born there/raised there and move are even more annoying than the ones there sometimes:gucci:

If they shunned their heritage it would be a problem, if they embrace it in their own way it’s a problem.

We get it, we will never know as much about our island as you brehs

I know you Haitians are a lil different with your culture and patriotism but still.

No disrespect cause you an older breh but still
Again, doggy like i said in my post i dont mean to disrespect and shyt on what you young brehs have going for you. I understand you were born and raised in an environment and had to make the best out of what you had under pressure from both your haitian family and trying to fit into AA culture for social purposes. I was 16 when I arrived in America Permanently And even before I was here permanently i'd visit the US and saw how Haitians were treated so I understand how the whole Zoe pound gang started in order to retaliate and survive.
But just like dude in the video, I just object to the way some of them brehs represent us in front of the world while waving a flag that represents so much more TO ME.
But again, do you.:hubie:

What does Zoe mean? My girlfriend Haitian and she don’t even know.
"Zo" in kreyol is "Bone"

Im not sure how the name "Zoe Poung" (the gang name) came about. But i know the term "Zoe" came from it.

Depending on what part of Haiti a person is from it means different things. I was taught that it meant "bone" as in animal bone.
I think street slang in some parts means an erection as in 'hard as a bone'

It's just "Bones". Any bones, not just animal. Nothing sexual about ZO. I think you are confusing it with "zozo" which is a slang for dikk.

Zo is from the french word "os" but in plural form (les os) the s in "les" ends up overflowing to combine with os and sounds like (english phonetic) "LEZO". But haitians dropped the LE since we dont use the french determiners BEFORE the nouns. We use our determiners AFTER the noun instead as seen here
  • French: la cassette, la table, le cheval
  • Kreyol: kaset la, tab la, cheval la

You don’t know what the pound is? A place where they store things. Short for compound.

:mjlol: Margate is west of Pompano Beach. He was speaking real shyt but gang ties sounded spotty.

For real, that's why nikkas just gotta say they in Broward and just leave it at that when talking that gang n street shyt.

I mean real nikkas is everywhere, but you can't expect cats to take your gang ties serious like that if you out there moving in fukking Coconut Creek and Margate.
