We’re all for players making money, but this is absolutely not a sustainable model moving forward. Rashada is a project based on his physical abilities that might take 2 years before he sees the field for a respectable program. And HE’S getting 13 milli before stepping on the college field? So what would the 3rd year WR who was all conference last year think about some 17 year old walking in with that money without playing a down? He’s gonna want something similar or he’s hitting the portal. And how do you keep up with this for the next cycle of recruits?
This is where I was gonna call you broke, sorry, and a crying ass lil hoe … but you’re right.

I’m conflicted

Whatever. Good post. :yeshrug:

Im still finding this 13 million number hard to believe.
3.25m a year when Heisman winners and contenders weren't getting that. And Ryan Day said they need 13 million a year to keep their entire roster together and this cat who aint even top 5 at his position gon demand that for 4.
I need to see some ciepts:patrice:

This is why the market will correct itself.

After a while theyll realize throwing tens of millions at an unproven prospect might not be the wave, especially when they turn out to be busts Year after year and they still don't win shyt..... and the established veteran players just get pissed off and leave cuz they're not getting that kind of bread.

Florida got desperate then had buyer's remorse

No what happened is that we got a commit from DJ Lagway and then realized we aint gotta over spend for Rashada. But to your point, overall is true.

It wasn’t $13 mill, but it was more than what you would pay for him and yep we kinda did get desperate

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida quarterback recruit Jaden Rashada requested a release from his national letter of intent Tuesday night after a $13 million name, imagine and likeness deal fell through, according to multiple reports.

Rashada's future had been in doubt since he failed to enroll at Florida last week, sending signals that something was amiss. He flipped his commitment from Miami to Florida in mid-November and formally signed with the Gators on Dec. 21.

But his arrival in Gainesville was contingent on a four-year, $13 million NIL deal he signed with the Gator Collective, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. The Gator Collective is an independent fundraising arm that disburses money to student-athletes in all sports. The financial backing fell through, however -- the Gator Collective terminated the binding agreement -- and left Florida coach Billy Napier to scramble to try to get Rashada to campus.

Sasse needs to clean house by the end of the year. Fire that racist protecting Stricklin and get the Sunbelt Sling Blade off the sideline.

Stricklin needs to go but keep Billy and give em time. This roster needs to be flipped and it almost already is flipped. Forget about 2023, we’re gonna be dog shyt again because we will probably the youngest team in CFB and set your sights on 2024. At least I am

It is messed up they ruined his recruitment. I thought the dollar amount was a sign it wouldn't come together. He should sue if he can honestly because where will he play next season that doesn't already have a QB recruited.

Y'all gotta stop going with this pocket watching angle like dude's don't understand the game and how to play it.

No an OL isn't letting his QB get sacked because he's making more money, it's the dumbest take ever

As far as sustainability, schools will adjust based on risk/reward, like the other breh said, the market will adjust. When it backfires they'll do more homework to understand where things went wrong and pay accordingly. Until then, nikkas gonna eat and there ain't nothing wrong with that
