British black actors go to America to find success because they can't get roles outside 'stereotypes

They're trying to phase us out with this 'mixed race is the new black' shyt. Obviously I'm not speaking against mixed race people just to make that very clear, but Asians are about twice our population in numbers and you don't them promoting interracial relationships nearly as much as they do with us. You may have a British born Asian couple or family on TV who are as english as they come, but at least they still have ties to their cultural roots and celebrate their heritage. You don't see that with us at all. In fact, when do try to hold fast to our roots, they use shaming tactics and make it seem like it's something wrong. You get stuff like "why don't you call yourself 'British' instead of <<<insert family background>>>, yet in REALITY, take a look at the comments section in all the online outlets and see what they really think about us, whether we're born here or not. Only black people can't celebrate who they are, every other culture can.

It's clear they want to dispute your blood and eventually make yall disappear. UK seems to have a hate for African/Carribean people and culture tbh. That's why they want yall to be British so it's easier for miscegeation to occur to eventually make the black blood dissapear. That's why the closest you see of the average black on British TV are mixed ppl.

Exactly, so it's not a good thing when they don't even show the other half.. The 'darkest' love interest of a black man on TV is a mixed raced woman. Black love is very rare on screen.

If Luther came out in the 90s, the black community here would have kicked up a major fuss about the fact that none of his love interests were black, but it's like we're so used to how things are now that we would have fell on the floor in shock if he did have a black woman by his side lol.

Now, on the rare occasion you do see a black couple on TV, you end up yelling to your people upstairs to quickly turn it to channel 5 so they can see it for themselves.

I've only been to London once and so far off suburb another time so I'm no expert, but I noticed that the vast majority of interracial couples walking around were black/white. I was like :tf: it was a culture shock for sure. I think the powers that be are trying to dilute the black community as much as possible. I really don't think its an accident.

I've been saying the very same thing from day one, and no, it's definitely not an accident. Whereas in America it seems like they just want to kill black outright, over here they're trying to phase us out as if we never had a history or culture that helped make this country what it is. If it wasn't for people like my grandparents and others before them, this whole country would have collapsed and still been in the dark ages.

Media portrayals are powerful and unless you see otherwise with your own eyes, you'll believe any shyt they throw at you. Before the movie City of God, people were hardly aware of the black presence in Brazil despite the fact that it has the biggest population of black/African people outside of Africa! I was at a party last night where there were all black couple except one, so why is that never shown on TV (don't believe this 50% bullshyt that a lot of people like to spew either). They just don't like to portray black couples/families on TV at all and they feel threatened about anything that seems like it has strong cultural roots, that's why even with something like the Notting Hill Carnival they'll have a hippy looking white woman as the face of it in advertisements.....they'll never do that with an Asian festival because the community just wouldn't stand for it, plus they have a stronger economic base and care for their heritage. The black community here (like anywhere else in the west it seems) are just too indifferent for the most part.

In America, Eric Laselle spoke up about portraying a black couple positively instead when they were gonna put him with a white woman. Over here, the actors/actresses don't wanna rock the boat, even though I know for a fact that many of them see what's going on. Even with the black footballers, you very rarely see those who are married to black women.

They're the fastest growing group in the UK. And they're being represented FAR more among the British black population than they regular African/Carribean black. It's like the whites don't want to show that they're are actual black people living in their country.

British black people are too polite and complete pushovers which is why they never get anything over there. Its also why there is a lack of black politicians and influential black people there. They ain't the type of nikkas to push HARD against the status quo like their American brothas.

Yeah, it's to a ridiculous extent actually, not to mention the media out there perpetuate it. Most of the black British actresses seem to be mixed.
