I respect Flores sacrifice. He's only 40 years old. He could have continued to stay quiet and make millions in the league for years. Now he may be blackballed.

Flores lawyers said they have corroborating evidence Ross offered Flores 100k a game to lose… I told y’all that firm wouldn’t have taken that case if Flores didn’t have rock solid proof… Ross is done
That’s the whole angle that everyone should be focused on. The rest is just Rooney rule shyt, nothing you can do about it because you can’t force owners to hire someone.

But the tanking has the potential to clear out an entire org.

Let's see how far he's willing to take it because if he's serious about making change, then he'll keep it in the courts long enough to force other owners to testify especially considering that there are now rumblings that other owners have been in on it as well.

Above the fray.
Folks seem to not know today that the current NFL is actually a merger of what had been several competitive leagues.

The All America Football Conference (AAFC) was small, lasted only a few years but included San Francisco 49ers, the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Colts.

The AAFC teams merged into the NFL in 1950.

The American Football League (AFL) only lasted ten years and merged with the NFL in 1970. In the AFL were: New York Titans (now the Jets), Boston Patriots (now New England) , Buffalo Bills, Houston Oilers, Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, and Dallas Texans.

Entrepreneurs have built, grown and merged new leagues/new teams throughout the history of sports.

Even the USFL is returning this year.

So the notion that a sport with a 70 percent Black male labor force somehow cannot launch a league with more racially diverse ownership is based on fear of Black ownership and control alone, not the historical reality.

Many are more concerned with being well-compensated employees, with now power to hire, fire or acquire.
Agreed.
Laws on the books are about public institutions and discrimination in admission, hiring, lending, renting.
Private institutions, and organizations are going to hire, promote, fire who they want to. People don't want to digest that, but it's the truth.
What I've always done in positions and platforms I've had is to say that for any organization to remain competitive, they have to attract & develop the best possible people. That includes opening up opportunities in "non traditional" places. Diversity is a competitive advantage in that regard. Worked out for the Steelers when the late Bill Nunn helped them scout the HBCU talent that formed the core of their 70s dynasty. Worked out when they interviewed and hired Mike Tomlin, Superbowl ring and no losing seasons

Promoting diversity for diversity's sake , or because "it's the right thing to do" is a hard sell.

Having said that people need to explore other options. The ones you proposed, and what's happening now with ex NFL players becoming head coaches at HBCUs.

LOL @ Stephen A. talking to Marvin Lewis on First Take when he advocated for years for the Bengals to fire him

Edit: He acknowledged it

He personally led that movement for years until it happened.

As a matter of fact, whenever the topic of hiring discrepancies came up back then, he would always spin it to Marvin Lewis having a job for so long without winning a Super Bowl.

He’s an opportunistic piece of shyt.

Promoting diversity for diversity's sake , or because "it's the right thing to do" is a hard sell.

And it is a false notion of "diversity" because so few are interested in diverse ownership.

The mountain can remain white at the top for all they care.

Undisputed only has a small segment of it. Shannon sounds very high and mighty unless someone like Elway gets involved and then it's mums the word. Most of today seems to be about the Bowl and Brady. Oh and Lebron.
