:mjpls: U must play football

Can you not make it about NBA vs NFL for just one thread? There's gonna be a LOT of NBA players getting their feelings hurt when Bron and CP3 ain't around no more. Bron had leverage because he's Bron. The next Bron (Giannis or Luka) ain't gonna be the shield for the rest of the players and there will be a course correction. The owners ain't gonna feel no pressure if CJ McCollum starts talking tough to them.

I had this conversation with my mom a few days ago, nfl pa is weak af I always laugh in the nba off-season when average like players get millions and nfl players run to Twitter to complain:mjlol:

I was really done with the nfl when not even a quarter of the black players kneeled with Kap:hhh:

Nikkas voted for less weed test than more money :mjlol::francis:

This is not a viable option unfortunately.

I mean, it is, but it'd take YEARS AND YEARS for it to be worth it for players. The NFL didnt become what it is overnight, or even over 20-30yrs.

And as a side note, alot of whiteswant things to stay the same in society, bc if black ppl saw more ways out than sports and entertainment, sports would take a dip.

Its not a viable option because why?

Because for a 70 percent Black male labor force, high salaries trump ownership and control?

Cube started a viable sports league in between his movie roles, btw..

So, there will always be this perpetual song and dance between a 70 percent Black labor force and nearly 100 percent White ownership.

Change was supposed to occur after Kaepernick and it didn't (and never will) for the same reasons.
Why would the black capitalist class treat black labor and managers better?

shyt, this dude Flores ain't exactly a hero based on how he dismissed Kenny Stills and protesting two years ago.

So, then why bother with advocacy against the white capitalist class in the NFL if at the end of the day "color" doesn't matter?

Just give up a few head coaches and offensive coordinators and we're good with 100 percent white ownership, nearly 100 percent season ticket holder subscribers, 100 white-owned sponsors, etc.

The dynamics on the NFL for boycotting are extremely different. Bottom players dont make enough to make that sacrifice. Top players (QB) get paid so much that they dont want to sacrifice it. Most players dont last long, its a three-four year pay check.

LeBron, CP3, Curry and the likes can be vocal as they want to be becuase there is no replacing them or their talent.

A Black-owned-and-controlled professional football league is suicide for whom?
For black athletes. The league would be isolated, marginalized, and put to the waste side.

this aint Jim Crow when there was an actual Black infrastructure in place to support a Black league. My parents generation gave that up in the name of “integration.”

madison avenue would not line up sponsors to support an all black league.

you dont create a Haiti within the beast. It wont succeed. This is a battle that has to be won within the league if the players have the collective gumption

I'm willing to bet his next paycheck, that eventually in that back and forth with you he will type a word salad and play far right/alt right bingo with labels that have nothing to do with the conversation.
