I go back to Hogan's story about the Hall of Fame in 2006. Hogan went up to Bret to shake his hand and Bret wouldn't shake it. Austin had to take Bret and get him out of there because he was making a scene.

I bet something similar happened at the Rumble

Before his first quad tear HHH was a great worker. The match he tore it in was going to be a classic but because of the injury it's only legendary.

I think with Bret being the technical aficionado he is, he gives his views from the perspective of a traditional grappler. So when he gave his rating on Taker/HHH last year, he was doing it with the pure wrestling enthusiast way of thinking.

I personally disagree with the rating, mainly because there's not much technical skill needed in a Hell in a Cell match.

Now, while Triple isn't that great, or even good, from the technical standpoint, he does an EXCELLENT job of invoking emotion from the crowd. That's why I loved the HIAC match with Taker, because it had a plethora of emotion.

However, I do agree with Bret in the regard that Hunter's perceived "greatness" is a bit overrated. Now while he has had some great matches in the past, those were YEARS ago, and even though I have him in my personal Top 5 (mostly due to him being able to play a great heel), I don't consider to be on the level of guys like Austin, Rock, Taker, or HBK (who, if you ask me, HHH was riding his coattails till Shawn got hurt). His greatness is a definite product of WWE's hype machine, for sure. And it also helps if you're married to Stephanie McMahon.

But hey, I'm not hating. that's just my opinion.

Bret's been my man since Afghanistan but...sometimes in life it's best to know when not to say something.

Poor Natalya :sadcam:

Besides, how many HHH matches has Bret actually watched? :usure:

funny he said he predicted how the HHH/Taker match would play out, because i said the same shyt before the match started

HHH's workrate as a wrestler is all based telling stories or psychology in the ring, and not actually wrestling
