what do ya'll mean Vince fcked bret over? Vince asked Bret to do his job, and it was a reasonable request....drop the title to a major star at SS '97. I know Bret has used the out that he had "creative control", but that comes with a caveat. The contract read that Bret had "reasonable" creative control, which Ive interpreted as Vince not having the capacity to humiliate Bret, or make Bret do anything that would be in clear breach of his moral character. Sure, I get that he didnt like HBK, and the match was in Canada (the match was in Montreal...so it was his home country not hometown. Kinda like HBK saying he wouldnt do a job in the United States), but reasonable creative control doesnt mean Bret owns the company and gets to call all the shots.
Bret tried to put the screws to Vince because he really didnt want to leave, and out of spite over his feud with HBK. Lets not try to paint Bret as the innocent party here. For as much of an ahole as HBK was, Shawn was roughly a decade younger than Bret. Bret, oddly enough, lacks a great deal of maturity and thats been proven throughout his career.
With all that said, fck Eric Bischoff. Dude is such a dyckhead, and never takes the high road. Ever.
