The 80's were a phenomenal decade that set precedence for a lot of stuff that we have today, and most likely take for granted. It wasn't the best times for a lot of people though.
Nat Geo had a DOPE special about the decade as a whole recently, shyt wasto watch.

All I can say is that if you aren't an 80's baby(and I mean 80-86) you missed out on a lot. Amongst the craziness that was the 80's(drugs, serial killers, ect.) and the 90's, that era was the last great era of music(it's shyt now...), movies were better(direction wise.... Graphics are what's hot now but the shyt they were doing with 80's tech was amazing). In places where drugs wasn't flowing, it was peaceful and negros wasn't on this n***a s**t that everybody's on now. Black people were more cultured. Everything was cheaper.... A dollar was worth 5 in the 80's.

One of the greatest musicians of our time wouldn't make an impact today IMO.
Even the artist he greatly influence like miguel, the dream, the wknd, and genuwine before them. wouldn't dare do the risky shyt he would do.

Wrestling and Boxing was really entertaining
Celebrities were real cool back then, Much more sociable environment than today etc
It was the greatest form of escapism despite the negative things that also happened in the decade.

Prince is/was one of those artists that don't give a f**k and you can't put his style or behavior in a box..... Prince had ALL the baddest chicks of the 80's and a few from the 90's as well... Having said that.... Prince is bi-sexual and probably always been with men and women... After his marriage with Mayte Garcia ended, dude went all the way out.
