But more of the world cares about boxing in 2018?If you printed a picture of Michael Jordan , Mike Tyson and LeBron James off and asked 5000 people across the world to name all 3 of them I guarantee more people (worldwide) could name Mike Tyson.
I don't understand what is so difficult to understand about that. The rest of the world does not care about basketball like that.
But more of the world cares about boxing in 2018?
Why would you think you could not include all the people in the world when talking about worldwide fame?So at the peak of his career Tyson wasn't bigger than mj and LeBron worldwide?
I don't know why I try and talk logically on the coli are we doing a poll of 13 year olds when we speak about world wide fame?
his nationality doesnt matter because boxing is a very popular sport globally.Help me understand this, 'cause I don't think he's even in the conversation, for the simple fact he's a former American athlete.
Why would you think you could not include all the people in the world when talking about worldwide fame?
You talking about the peak of his career, when hundreds of millions of people have been born since that time. During the span of that time boxing has plummeted in popularity, while basketball has risen.
But if you wanna limit the poll to people that were around in the 80's and 90's that's just totally different than what the thread is talking about
If this is me being slow I will genuinely admit to it but at what point did I say to limit it to people in the 80s and 90s
So at the peak of his career Tyson wasn't bigger than mj and LeBron worldwide?
so your agrument is there are more people say 18 and under that there are 18?You said this...such a statement would only apply to someone alive in the 80's & 90's
breh, think about how less connected the world was in 80's/early 90's when tyson was a thing, that's limiting right there. furthermore, he was not the activist symbol ali was...so even as big as he was in his sport, he didn't transcend it. now take into account the large swath of people who didn't care about boxing who were of age then (mid 80's to mid 90's - let's people 12 and older) probably don't know him, and then we add to that all the folks who have been born in the 90's to now, no way in hell he's the most famous living athlete. this just isn't even a good option. If this is me being slow I will genuinely admit to it but at what point did I say to limit it to people in the 80s and 90s
