It depends what your talking about. First of all PC games must be somewhat scalable. No ones gonna bother making a game that only top-of-the-line computers can play. It just wouldnt sell. So any decent gaming computer should be able to run every PC game if you mess with the settings. If you get that i5 ($200) and a gtx 680 ($500) it will handle pretty much anything you throw at it at 1080p with everything "maxed out".
And yes you can just hook it up to your TV.

I got a pc right now but it's kinda old and i bought it ready made. It's my main way of playin shyt but I can't run a lot of stuff maxed out. The main thing I be playing is bf3 and I can only run that on low. I wanna be able to play bf3 on ultra with no stutter or crashin, How much would that cost me and is bf3 a good benchmark? ya'll nikkas gonna be like "bf3 maxed?"

The next systems won't even have cards in them as powerful as a damn 570
and a few months after PS4/720 drop Nvidia will have Maxwell, a next generation card that should be considerably better than the 680

That PC for 2K will be good for 10 years, bench this Gen and next Gen easily. SSD and a 2560x1440 monitor

We are just trying to help you out...this Gen is running on smoke screens at this point, bringing in celebs to dance, dashboard updates being critical, movement still important with the Wii flopping the past 2+ years? Wtf? LOL

I took the plunge months ago and bought a gaming laptop. Only got a gt550m but I still love it the same. I probably upgrade when ever I get a real job. My ps3 been collecting dust.
