This is on my netflix queue, honestly it looks corny as shyt which is crazy because love and basketball is a all time fave for black chicks my age and the secret life of bees was pretty good too. They really fukked up the marketing for this, I also think they needed at least one stronger name in one of the lead roles, but then again, we don't have many young black actors and actresses.

Co-sign this. I always thought it was just a generic Black romantic drama, so I had no interest. It also probably didn't help that neither Gugu or Nate Parker are household names to even a black audience.
I only found out a few weeks ago that Gugu plays a hot new music artist that on her way to superstardom. If they had promoted the music industry side of this movie, this movie would've definitely done better at the box office.
