damn, usually, a film with a black man is gonna cast him as a problem. but this looks like this nikka saved this fine girl.

Someone needs to smiley his face at 0:58, that shyt is the perfect "Oh, you know what I see" smirk. And yes, I can smiley it myself but I ain't got the time right now, lol.

I really enjoyed this. Very good performances by Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Minnie Driver, and Nate Parker. And I really liked all of the music, including the trendy stuff at the beginning. This could have been a canned romantic chick-flick but it explored some very real themes in an genuine way. Also, a bit of a weird side-note: I found uncanny similarities between this movie and Birdman. Stylistically they are very different but both movies explore an artist's struggle with authenticity, identity, celebrity, and love. The only flaw was that it was a bit too long, but all in all it was a very engaging and reflective movie. I'd put it just below Love & Basketball.

I'd give it a 4 out of 5. :jawalrus:
