Lol and these same men expect perfect housewives with men who make less than minium wage and women who make twice or more that income. That's the dynamic in black relationships that create resentment and discord. If these black women decided to stay home amd raise the kids how would these households survive when you add kids in the picture? Money may not be everything but it is important and anyone who downplays that is selling tall tales.
Women from the hood in Chicago aren't a good look, but if she was cool there hen that's her I guess.

my father is the same way. left school early, became a mechanic. moved to nyc, found a job with the government in philly, and has been killing it since.

Well shouldn't women cook/clean/take care of their children too? Your mom probably was doing all that on top of being nurse which is a very stressful job and also being a breadwinner. That's great....sign me up!
