At what point was it disclosed the men in the video she quoted are “Cis” and/or “hetero” black boys? She watched a clip with minimal context, one that’s clearly presented in a format to produce social media engagement for the creator (which I’m assuming is the girl playing basketball) - and this lady went off about “cis black boys”. For all she knows the people in that video “identify” as “non-binary” or other lgbt affiliations. Similar thing applies to these femicide stats they quote and plant on “cishet black men” - how are they discerning these labels regarding the perpetrators?

That aside, there are a bunch of kids that are knuckledheads and/or outright demonic, it’s a wider societal problem - but we do need to correct it in our community. The older I get the more I see how destructive some of the things that are popular among black youth can be, namely popular rap music, and simple math would suggest you’re more likely to fall victim to a crime by those you live in proximity with (opportunity, chance, triggers etc). However, it’s crazy to pathologize and paint “cis black boys” the way she’s doing

See, most of the havoc is caused by single-parent (mother) raised households. Many of those children are also being raised in multiple children by multiple men households. Most of the men creating those single-parent multiple children households are high recidivism felons. The women who are having children with those men know what those men are about. Those women have no real emotional control themselves, hence the high IPV children victim rates. You add all of that together, and the havoc is being caused by a cycle of people having children with people who are incapable of actually being good parents and examples. So, that discussion about emotional control will rarely be had by them, since the parents themselves lack emotional control.

The single mother household thing is a cop out. Because at some point, you become an adult, and you need to learn how to control your emotions on your own. You can’t be 50 and still blaming things on mommy and daddy(or lack of). At some point, you have to be to become responsible for your own behavior and healing.

As long as these reading and math statistics look the way they do for black kids. I need to see how the child is able to read, write and do math to determine if a person is a good parent. Next is behavioral patterns.

I understand your sentiment, but I disagree for one particular reason. Behavioral patterns can be the first indicators of child abuse and/or neglect. Those two things also leads to children having poor reading and math statistics. A lot of the problems go hand in hand, so I personally feel all of it needs to be looked at discussed and solutions formed.

I pointed out that that discussion is not being had in those households because of their parents being incapable of modeling emotional control themselves. No where did I state anything about men being let off the hook for their poor impulse control and bad actions in the communities.
