When Marvel got to share the rights back, Feige said he wanted him in high school and as one of the producers and the chief creative mind behind it, that's what's happening. According to him, he's been spider-man for an undetermined about of time but there won't be another origin story. He wanted to put him in high school because that was his favorite time for the character and feels like there are a lot of stories and characters that haven't been touched on from that era (he's right on that one) and the plan is sign a young cat and watch him grow into the role and grow up with the role similar to harry potter.

Sally Avril, Randy Robertson, Kong, Felicia Hardy, Liz Allen, her brother Mark Allen...the true idea of him dealing with all of this on his shoulders while being just a kid and trying to do homework or pass a chemistry test. There's plenty to be mined there and you can always extrapolate backwards and have him tangle with someone like the kingpin as a 16 year old and it'll affect him differently than it would as a 26 year old.
