so knowing this, nobody should be complaining about the return for Caruso.
:patrice:

I mean, it gives DeMar a way out, now they can sign & trade him. DeMar and Giddey is a terrible fit... add in Vuc being dogshyt from 3 too?

:mjlol:

Nah, Bulls have to be signaling that DeMar is not coming back with this trade.

Bulls GM is dumb, could have and should have demanded picks as well, either 4 2nds or 1 1st rd pick. Doing a straight swap for a 3D player that every contender would love to have is dumb.

Great move for OKC, they got rid of an unplayable player to a guy that will have winning moments for them, it's what Boston did with guys like White, Jrue, etc.

then there's no deal.

we're also comparing what they got with what was offered in the past, as if AK turned down a better deal today in favor of Giddey. Presti doesn't pursue Caruso if he has to come off multiple firsts if nobody else is currently doing that. Y'all can't treat Giddey like he's James Bouknight or Josh Primo or someone like that. That's unplayable. Giddey has a deficiency that will get exploited if he doesn't fix it, but he's got time and on that Bulls team, he's got more time.

I like it for OKC this the Derrick White trade for them. Now they need to do a Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Trade and then they’ll be the favorites in the west. Long as Jalen Williams took another step next year.
This. They need another glue/jack of all traders versatile player and a pure big/center. Holmgren is a power forward and he needs an actual big/center alongside him to guard the paint, block shots and get rebounds. He can’t do it alone.

OKC defensive wall on the perimeter will be so tough to penetrate next season. Caruso and Dort together will be an nightmare for opposing shooters, they wil lock them down and not give them any room/space/time to make shots. Caruso unlike giddey can defend and shoot the three very well.

I didn't say multiple 1st, just 1 or multiple 2nds which I think is fair. Bulls previous asking price was 2 first round picks around trade deadline, this is why it got no where, a contender would be happy to trade 1 which is reasonable for Caruso and what he brings. Giddy has a scoring problem from all over the court, not aggressive inside, cant shoot midrange, cant shoot 3s, that type of guy will just not get much run on a team trying to be competitive unless they are tanking. Maybe he works on those things because he is young but Bulls should have got more than a question mark. You are giving up the much better player, you should get more.

Bulls FO stinks though, they will probably have to give up LaVine for next to nothing too at this point, which is why you have to do well on trades like Caruso. It's bad asset management.

Draft picks are question marks.

Yup, it's why i feel they're basically Boston 2.0 in the making, i actually forgot all about Dort and was thinking of Caruso as their "Jrue". I don't even think having Holmgren at the 5 is bad, if not for the other 4 guys (SGA/JW/AC/Dort) all being 6'6, 6'5, 6'4, and 6'3.

Boston can get away with KP at the 5 because Tatum himself is 6'8/6'9, which means any offensively circumstantial PF like Aaron Gordon can't exploit that matchup. So ideally I feel they need 2 pieces that can interchange from starting or off the bench: (1) a floor spacing big (possibly Hartenstein) and (2) a stretch 4.

That way you can have Chet interchange between the 4 or 5, and still have size (pause) when he's on the bench.
