We are truly doomed. How long before this shyt stain of a court rules the entity of a company can give unlimited sums of money to candidates because its a "person"

Token law student here. Read the opinion this morning.

The aggregate limits were a nonsensical way to handle corruption. There are laws on the books that handle what the agg. limits were supposed to handle in a far more rational manner. Besides, SCOTUS basically told Congress what the constitutional out was in the text of the decision -- stricter regulations on inter-organizational transfers. This isn't Armageddon by any means.

Buckley v. Valeo has been begging to be partially overturned for years now.

But yeah, Clarence Thomas went way too far with that shyt. As always.

Norfeast groovin…
I think a combination of Gore v Bush and the Iraq invasion pretty much ended patriotism as we know it.

Iraq was strike two, Katrina sealed it for me my contempt will last for all my life now. My whole high school walked out when the Iraq Invasion happened in protest, and I read Malcolm's autobiography that semester in English. These jerks had me pissed that year.

I remember how anyone who dared opposing the Iraq war was called "unpatriotic."
Over 70 percent of Americans initially approved the invasion and a majority of them still gave Bush a pass in 2004
One positive: Republicans lost that grip on foreign issues with voters ever since :manny:

With this out there literally pepsi could, if they wanted, just flat out make commercials saying "Obama, brought to you y pepsi"

Just wait till people running for office start showing up looking like the cars from NASCAR

Since companies are people shouldn't their shares be able to vote?

They're not people, they're vampires.
Immortal
Shun the light
Seemingly endless amounts of money
No regard for life
Devoid of actual humanity

The Supreme Court has ruled otherwise. Wouldn't it be fair if each of their shares had the right to to vote? Each share a company issues akin to a vote? For local elections lets say wherever the company is chartered.
