Yeah I'm skeptical of this rumor. Although this rumor would explain why Rockstar hasn't released many games since 2013.
I can tell you its straight up bullshyt and they did already re-release SA with updated graphics and new anims for the 10 year anniversary...

You're not going to get a Mafia "Definitive Edition" for those games on RAGE from R*...

Porting the maps over to RAGE is easy, we been doing that for over a decade now on PC but its a substantial amount of work to update everything and make it playable...Nevermind all the shyt they cannot get back like expired music licenses (pretty big deal for VC)...The Ray Liotta beef also makes VC impossible, they killed the character off screen because he talked shyt that he was the reason the game a success...No way Vercetti comes back...

To further add to that, VI sounds like a very ambitious project and they're going to need all hands on deck so I don't see a trilogy on RAGE ever happening...Not from R* anyways...

R* has been content with the modding scene doing all that work for the Renderware trilogy games (T2 not so much)...

I don't think Tommy Vercetti died. He just cut ties with Ken Rosenberg due to Ken's coke addiction. In the 3D era, Tommy basically rules Vice City even though it seems like he was supposed to be in San Andreas.

Rockstar just stopped using the character since Ray Liotta wouldn't be the voice actor anymore.

Wasn't referring to ingame bruh...I'm fully aware of the cutscenes in SA with Rosenberg...

The Housers were pissed at Liotta acting like a bytch and insulating he's bigger than the game developers by attributing the games success entirely to himself...

They decided to kill off the character behind the scenes by never mentioning him again, they did that to send a message...This happened after SA release...

I'm curious what Rockstar is going to do with the online characters for GTA Online.

Will they let players transfer their character to GTA VI (GTA Online Part II) or will they force players to start over?

That's why I'm wondering if they will just recreate San Andreas by adding San Fierro and Las Venturas to the current GTA V map.

simple, the completion rate for single player is is very low. they see where their engagement is.

you only thinkin from your perspective. what you say and what their data is showing them is 2 different things. :yeshrug:

I also don't get this idea that it's people rebuying the game. GTA online is always full of new players. perhaps even more during covid lockdown.

they made RDR2 and that peaked and cooled off while this game is still going strong. you think they give a damn about single player? NOPE

Exactly I don't know why this is such a hard concept to grasp

You either starting from scratch or paying actual money to port whatever over with restrictions/limitations on place to lessen what value your character had.
