All I got from it is that Riley used to not allow superstar perks and treated all players with strict rules but with Jimmy he mellowed out in regards to that. It's a risky game as you risk turning off superstars who can get special treatment at other franchises. But hell it's lead to 7 Finals appearances and 3 titles in the last 20 years so hasn't hurt them too bad.All I got outta this is that Pat Riley moves shady as hell and is overcompensating for past wrongs.

Naw getting Wade at 5 is responsible for all that. People forget that between that last LA title and that first Heat title there was damn near 20 years of Pat and his mob boss alphaness coming up short year after year. Heat would be the Magic or Raptors (before the Kawhi chip) status without Wade. I aint hear shyt bout no Heat Culture in the 90s or early 2000s. They needed to win for that to be a thing. Wade directly or indirectly responsible for all of that. All I got from it is that Riley used to not allow superstar perks and treated all players with strict rules but with Jimmy he mellowed out in regards to that. Just because it wasn’t mentioned as a marketing mechanism back then doesnt mean it didnt exist, those late 90’s teams established the culture.Naw getting Wade at 5 is responsible for all that. And it wouldnt be a marketing thing or something that was taken seriously without rings to back it up.Just because it wasn’t mentioned as a marketing mechanism back then doesnt mean it didnt exist, those late 90’s teams established the culture.
The winning added to it.And it wouldnt be a marketing thing or something that was taken seriously without rings to back it up.
“Heat culture started with Pat Riley coming to the Miami Heat,” Hardaway said, “with Keith Askins, Alonzo Mourning, and then when he made that trade. I really think Heat culture started in ‘96-97, with Keith, Alonzo Mourning, myself, Voshon Lenard, Dan Majerle, Ike Austin and P.J. Brown, of course. All this social media, they forget about what really, really happened in ‘96-97, ‘98, ‘99. They forget about what really happened. They just look at now, with the Big Three and those guys. I laugh, I just let it go. But it started in ‘96-97 and a lot of people forget about that.”
