All I got from it is that Riley used to not allow superstar perks and treated all players with strict rules but with Jimmy he mellowed out in regards to that. It's a risky game as you risk turning off superstars who can get special treatment at other franchises. But hell it's lead to 7 Finals appearances and 3 titles in the last 20 years so hasn't hurt them too bad.
