The problem with black people is we need to focus on black people that is doing successful things and black people that are making millions and billions of dollars. White people voted donald trump aka mr grab em by the p*ssy as president of the United States. It don't get no worse than that. White men is raping and sexual harassing their own women and they're getting exposed for it every week. It don't get no worse than that. White men are shooting up elementary schools and churches and movie theaters and country concerts every other month. It don't get no worse than that. But black people seem to ignore all the bullshxt white people do and ignore all the good shxt black people do to focus on rappers and c00ns and bedwenches . That's the same thing white supremacists do. They ignore all the bullshxt white people do and ignore all the good shxt black people do and strictly focus on the "bad" things black people do. Stop focusing on the negativity and start focusing on the positive things black people are doing. I guarantee you a white message board not condemning none of these sexual predators that's been exposed. They're not condemning trump supporters for voting for dude who's grabbing women by the pxssy. They're not condemning none of these mass shooters. It's too many black people doing big and great things to disregard them and focus on negativity
I get what you are saying, I really do BUT no other race of people has an equivalent to hip-hop.
Hip-hop is the most popular artform on the entire planet. Hip-hop is the lens that the entire world views black people through. Hip-hop is the lens that we view OURSELVES through. Hip-hop is the reason that blacks are seen as a monolith. We are all judged from the stereotypes that rappers display to the world.
Whites are the most destructive and violent group in history but they also for the most part don't portray themselves as thugs and savages in an artform like hip-hop. When we see violent white men like The Terminator and Rambo its strictly viewed as "just entertainment" but the very foundation of hip-hop is "keeping it real". The overwhelming message that hip-hop tells the world is that blacks are dangerous, irresponsible and lack self-control.
Again, hip-hop is the single most popular artform on the planet so its hard NOT to focus on such a huge representation of blackness.
I do get what you're saying tho which is why its important to have that balance in hip-hop. Going by hip-hop, you would think all black people are from the hood and engage in criminal activity but that's not the case at all.
At some point, the effects that hiphop has and is currently having on the image of black people has to be addressed.
I fear its too late tho. I fear our reputation has already been destroyed beyond repair
