didn't read:manny:

seems like one of those pointing fingers without presenting realistic solutions threads:hubie:
How can "realistic solutions" be had when 90% of black people thinks media propaganda is a conspiracy theory even tho it can be easily googled and verified as historic facts?

Here's one of the first replies in this thread for example:

Shut up nikka

Again, how can realistic solutions be had when black people get mad at the topic being brought up which is the entire point of this thread.

OP is right on the nose with this but this isn't strange to me or any of you on here that are black.:francis:

Nothing new at all as this is always been.

I have always been a monster or whatever to them and frankly I prefer it to be that way so I don't have to return their half smiles or engage them. I simply have a quick exit when engaged in white conversation or interaction at best....nothing more we can do.

Media / propaganda doesn't have examples to make of us if we don't tap dance / c00n / act a fool / commit crime in the first place.

So, respectfully... nah. We need to make better decisions as a people.

And save it. I know what you're gonna say. They only highlight our worst while ignoring our best.

True. But regardless, we need to do fukking better.

Ok, but that's not what's happening. In 2017, they don't have to put on blackface because WE OURSELVES perpetuate the most negative stereotypes of black people.

These black rappers are sending the message to the world that black people are violent, irresponsible, materialistic and hypersexual.

You say they DONT have examples of us but I say they DO have over 30 years worth of black people bragging to the world how violent and dangerous we are.

Its over. Its too late. The propaganda has already been set in stone and our reputation has been destroyed because of it.

Breh maybe I misworded it but I agree with you completely.

Maybe instead of "doesn't" I should've said "wouldn't".

We gotta stop fukking up is the bottom line.

We constantly talk about "white supremacy" but get angry when one of its many weapons (media propaganda) is brought up.

I think its because its still viewed by us as "just entertainment". It sounds good. We are enamored by the images and lifestyles of the rappers. We sing to it. We dance to it.

We don't view it as psychological warfare. We don't realize that white supremacy attacks not only the body, but also the mind and spirit.

We are not ready to overcome shyt until we fully understand what's attacking us.

:ehh:

Not just with music. It's little things that boast "others" and tear us down. Advertisement, tv shows, music, books, street names.

Example you know they changed a street on St. Charles (a street in NOLA where theres a ton of old money) to Rosa Parks and they had an uproar about it and removed the name to the side of a pole even tho technically it's still the name of the street.

We also have a transit system that predominantly blacks use yet the advertisement on the buses shows white people smiling and grinning talking about how they fancy the operations. When the passengers are predominantly black. Yet they aren't the ones who represent the transit tho we're the ones who put money into it.

Images about babies ALWAYS seem to have the white babies more profound and large while the black babies sit back in the pic and are smaller.

I notice the little things. The world hates BLACKS. From America, to Latin America to Africa. Hate, hate, hate,

Totally agree with your message.

Here's a thread that was made last week:

Is Your Inner Butt Crack Meant To Smell Even After Washing?

I never clicked it but I'm willing to bet that not 1 person came in the thread talking about "shut up nikka" or complaining about the thread.

Threads like this gets to stay but talk about one of the tactics of white supremacy and its name calling and bushes

We ain't ready yet.

We still patronize mass media outlets like NBC with our viewership because we think only FOX is our enemy due to the fact they're more overt but NBC is just as guilty. The only way to counter what the OP is getting at is controlling and owning our media. ESSENCE and JET had to sell their companies because of our lack of support throughout the years. So countering the negative imagery we see propagandized about us is all our in hands. That also means supporting upcoming black media outlets that counter the anti-black bullshyt paraded out there and that also means continue to support the established outlets that are already out there. The circle jerk about our racial image is engulfed in mold. We need to progress past the debate stage. Fighting the racist narrative should be our focus. Lastly it shouldn't strictly fall on the hands of black media outlets every last single person we share phenotype should be in this fight.
