What separates hiphop from other forums of music is that there's a sports like quality about it that's missing in other genres

Battle rap for example can almost be viewed in the same light as MMA, It's a verbal sport.


So you're going to hear some negative things in a battle that may be a verbal equivalent of a kick to the face.

And I can't think of many party hiphop songs about killing other black people. Ante Up was like the only one I could think off and it was about sticking dudes up. I don't listen to trap music so I can't speak on it.
