Did you read the amendments ?

The amendments made the bill about people that lost land via eminent domain.

The black caucus did not want that bill to go to the floor. Republicans found loophole to make the bill not about black descendants of slavery fam.

Honestly I knew that because a Mexican was talking about it at work about how they’re already getting cards from lawyers about the bill.

The black Democrats voted no because they want that to be separate from the reparations bill. However Newsom already appropriate money for the agency to study reparations eligibility and the appropriation of funds so this is not the end of it. The CLBC is already actively working on a bill and they plan to make it specifically for black people descendant of American slaves.

Do you think Republicans and Mexicans would overwhelmingly vote for a bill that give money to black Americans, fam ?

and the vast majority of black people ain't thinking about this shyt cause they know it's a pipedream. primarily an internet thing.

Brother please don’t fall for the trap. Republicans poisoned the bill with what you can use the money for and the black caucus disagreed.

Why would you want reparations money to go to people who lost lands to the state via eminent domain ? It doesn’t make sense.

When have Republicans overwhelmingly put forward a bill to help black people ?

I typed in California reparations into Google and this is the first article that popped:

SACRAMENTO, California — A California state lawmaker is blaming Gov. Gavin Newsom for the stalling of key slavery reparations bills on the final day of the legislative session.

Democratic state Sen. Steven Bradford and other advocates backing the state’s multiyear effort to repair harms from institutional racism say Newsom’s aides pushed to dramatically narrow a proposal for a new state reparations agency. The changes mean the state would instead simply authorize the further study of the issue.

This is from yesterday:

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California lawmakers this week passed some of the nation’s most ambitious legislation aimed at atoning for a legacy of racist policies that drove disparities for Black people, from housing to education to health.

None of the bills would provide widespread direct payments to African Americans. The state Legislature instead approved proposals allowing for the return of land or compensation to families whose property was unjustly seized by the government, and issuing a formal apology for laws and practices that have harmed Black people.

But lawmakers left out two bills that would have created a fund and an agency to carry out the measures, considered key components of the efforts to take action. California Legislative Black Caucus Chair Assemblymember Lori Wilson said Saturday that the Black Caucus pulled the bills, adding the proposals need more work.

This link you posted is a clear example of your idiocy. which also further highlights your misleading & deceptive rhetoric.

SB 1050 is the Bill where the "Republican" voted no, which ARE NOT not the reparations bills SB1331 and SB1403 which were killed yesterday

"SB 1050 passed the Judiciary Committee on April 16 with an 8–1 vote before heading to the Appropriations Committee. Sen. Roger Niello (R-Roseville) voted no. He argued local jurisdictions that used eminent domain in racist ways should be responsible for providing compensation, not state taxpayers."

"If signed into law, SB 1050 would create a standardized state process to review claims. However, the bill is dependent on the passage of SB 1403, which is still pending before the Assembly. SB 1403 would establish the California American Freedmen Affairs Agency to implement the recommendations of the reparations task force. The agency would, among other duties, determine how an individual’s status as a descendant of an enslaved person would be confirmed."
