System qb similar to Schaub or Trent Edward’s, on a team that succeeded only because he was on an undrafted FA rookie contract. Before the ink is dry that team roster is about to be cap casualty hell :pachaha:

A lot of contracts end in 2026 or we can cut players or trade players at the end of next season which is essentially a void season for us anyway. We'll be fine.

If the 49ers don't pay him someone will because at worse he's a top 10-12 QB and most QB's suck.... most of the posters in here don't watch the actual games either to see that he's better than 20 other starting QB

Name these teams who will pay him 60.

He hasn't proven he can carry a team so that leaves out teams like the Giants and Raiders who can draft a guy and have a potential franchise QB on a rookie deal.

Good teams would probably only be the Steelers and Colts and why would they want to drop 60 and take on that massive cap hit when they need to fill out their roster. Pittsburgh could bring back Russ for 1-2 years at 40 and go get some WR's.

9ers are basically bidding against themselves. They don't have to pay him Dak money because no one else will. If anything they should franchise him and make him prove it.

There's QB's who elevate the roster and QB's who are elevated because of the roster. If it's the latter you don't pay them like the former.

Have you been following the draft the last few years? These were the 8 QBs taken ahead of Purdy in his draft..

  • Kenny Pickett
  • Desmond Ridder
  • Malik Willis
  • Matt Corral
  • Bailey Zappe
  • Sam Howell
  • Chris Oladokun
  • Skylar Thompson

How are they looking? :jbhmm:

This is nasty, especially when those other QBs didn't have a bunch of All-Pro teammates on offense
:why: Mahomes played most of his career with two Hall of Fame skill players. Peyton had 2 Hall of Fame WRs and the league's best OL. Romo had a Hall of Fame WR and TE, Ryan had a Hall of Fame WR and TE, Rivers had a Hall of Fame RB and TE and Pro Bowl WRs, Burrow played with the best WR trio in the league (including an All-Pro WR) and a Pro Bowl RB, Josh Allen played with an All-Pro WR...should I go on?

Don’t forget about Peyton having Faulk his rookie year than Edgerrin for like 7 seasons after

You can't pay Brock $50 million a year that's insanity :mjlol:
$50M/year would be 10th in the league. I would love to hear what you said when Goff, Tua, Trevor, Dak, Hurts and Love all got top 5 deals. If making Brock the 10th highest paid QB in the league is insanity then the whole league is already insane. :yeshrug:

They hate the niners so it's more about that and not really much to do with logic...
