They would need a lot to go their way

Not playing during championship week is one of the reasons he’s leaving
I think they just need 2 of Bama/Ok State/Michigan to lose

Bama isnt even a favorite in their game, and Baylor can beat Ok State

its not super high chance, but they have a shot

shyt would just be goofy

Not the best comparison, but this has a Rollie Massimino-to-UNLV feel to it. Weird fit. (And IINM Rollie didn't leave Nova in the best way, either.)

None of the players said anything...I would of got in an argument .... These college coaches can do what they want cause the 18/19 yr olds wont speak up or speak out

ND has a good shot of getting in...

Cincy can lose to Houston, Michigan can lose in their game...Alabama will lose and OK State can lose...Out of the four teams I mentioned ND just needs two to lose and we all know Bama will lose so.... its really out of Cincy or Michigan or Ok State you just need 1 I'd say its a good chance 1 of those three teams lose

Cookie cutter professional speech.

He’s more articulate than Les Miles and Orgeron ever were I’ll give him that.

The real reason Kelly left is LSU offered a boatload of money to which Notre Dame didn’t match and he also has access to better athletes, less stringent academic standards, and better facilities and resources.

Even though people shyt on Louisiana as a state…

LSU didn’t offer him a crazy amount 9.5 mill is the same as what Michigan St is about to pay Mel Tucker

Most of the players in that room probably transferred to 2-3 different high schools before they graduated. The game is the game :yeshrug:

That’s around market value for a marquee coach, but a significant pay raise over the 3 million a year Notre Dame was giving him.

I would have left too. Warmer weather, you don’t have to travel as much for recruiting, and 9.5 million goes a LONG way in the state of Louisiana unlike other places like California were the cost of living is absurd.

I think he’s a good coach that has won everywhere he’s been. He is a bit of a questionable cultural fit as it’s been said, but he can offset a lot of that with the coordinators, positions coaches, recruiters he hires. He was smart to retain Corey Raymond and Mickey Joseph.

It remains to be seen if he can win the big game, but he’ll stabilize the program and you won’t have all those off the field shenanigans you had with Orgeron.

Those idiots on Tigerdroppings expecting to be competing for nattys as soon as next year. They need to temper those expectations. I think it well take him 2 years to get his recruits in, get his coaching staff like he wants it, and to change the culture there. I’ll critique the Brian Kelly hire more in year 3 then I will in these first 2 years.

The culture fit doesn’t really worry me when you’re an established coach like he is, Nick Saban is from Ohio and Les Miles is from Michigan and that didn’t hold them back

it seems like many ND fans want to act like they dont mind Kelly leaving, but he dragged them out of hell and made them relevant again. I think hes a good coach and a good hire for LSU :yeshrug:
