Mac: Objective C, kernel is in C (IO PnP subsystem is Embedded C++)
Linux: Most things are in C, many userland apps are in Python, KDE is all C++
What languages are Windows, Mac OS X and Linux written in?
im not sure these are good examples to use as all these platforms are riddled with issues, for decades
it just seems less significant when you get a random error because your life isnt on the line when it happens
Almost every major company, especially tech companies make military equipment.. I believe the stock hype over that will and has been hyped.. Boeing, as a company, if at fault is probably done. If true Iran shot the plane down then Boeing walks away unscathed. A shytty situation to be in for the families involved.

back at my desk so EDIT: even higher-level pointer-less languages like Java, C# etc have runtimes that are written in lower level pointer exposing languages like C, C++. at the end of the day with standard modern machine architectures "there be pointers" at some level. how else are you going to long-jump around to functions.
