Can someone educate me on why presidential terms are maxed at 2 terms(8 years)? I saw a lot of people over the last x amount of years wish Barack was still president

FDR dominated and won 4 terms on a progressive agenda. Conservatives panicked and implemented an amendment to limit the presidency to two terms. Generally it was an unwritten rule to only severe two terms before the amendment.
