I've also been Wondering if this Series is Worth the Hype, I haven't heard a Bad thing about it but I hate watching the Series 2nd or 3rd Season in so I'll just wait until everything is on NetFlix for me to watch.
I agree that there's a difference between it and The Wire and The Sopranos, in termd of believability, well thought out writing, and depth, but it doesn't have to be as good or better than them to be great.
A top 10 show of all time is obviously worthy of being called great. Seasons 4 and 5 have earned it that level imo
I would have a hard time ranking it top 10, only seasons 3 and 4 were not weak.
Season 5 part 1 was weak, I suspect part 2 will be weak because all is left is him running from Hank and witness protection.
Season 1 was dope imo. Things stayed fairly believable and there were a lot of tense moments. Why didn't you like it? Imo its a little underrated, better than 2 and especially 3 with the killer twins who don't talk. That was some truly silly shyt.
Season 5 part 1 had some plot twists (how mike acted in general) and scenes (Walt acting like such a kingpin it was goofy, "say ny name", etc, just completely laughable shyt that he got away with) that hurt it, but I was still glued to the TV. And the train robbery episode was crack.
I would like to point out that Suicide King not only believes "Dexter" never fell off, but also it's a top 5 show, and in his own words "should go on at least 2 more seasons". "Breaking Bad" isn't a top 10 show though.
Don't expect any kind of logic from him.
Fred.
OP is right.
Show has a great concept, and story and all that good stuff.
But its acting is
