SpaceX has secured numerous contracts with NASA, alot of work that SpaceX does is in collaboration with NASA.
Also a private entity can go to market much much faster than a govt entity surrounded by red tape.

I wouldn’t phrase it that way At all. NASA has a “No mistakes” philosophy which is good engineering btw. SpaceX is willing to cut corners, blow up rockets, and burn cash. Thats fine for simple rockets but you cant wait for shyt to break to fix it when you’re sending astronauts further than LEO Ask any of these “NASA is bureaucratic and slow” types if they’re willing to ride on the next Starship flight. In the end the Space X approach isn’t faster it’s slower.

And don’t forget all these US space startups were gifted NASA knowhow, patents and hardware. Musk likes to pretend he created a space program from scratch and a lot of people believed him.

Youtube is flooded by Space X fanboys and paid influencers so good luck finding the truth.

yeah this is why Big Tech and stuff runs America because as long as we dominate Tech the USA govt has a treasure trove to pull from. It is like the parallel of how China owns everything thus they can impose their will. For the USA the govt has the checkbook thus the Private Companies can focus on R&D based on Govt Requirements. Its why our brightest go private while in a China they are in Govt often (directly or indirectly).
