Seriously...What the f*ck is wrong with this country? Damn. Sad stuff.

And somewhere some needledikked chickenhawk rethuglican that drives a Hummer is thinking that the solution to incidents like this is to put armed guards in schools. Oh and MORE GUNS!

Pretty soon, American schools and prisons will have no differences between them whatsoever.

Life as a shorty shouldn't be so rough.

Yikes! I had no idea until I left work and glanced at the coli before heading to the subway... :(

Maybe Colorado's cold, dark conditions are too oppressive at this time of year. High altitudes, final exams at highschool, and impending holiday stress may be too much for these cocky Caucasians.

Was the shooter a white boy? -_-
What did the teacher do to tick him off?

He did not bother to hide the shotgun when he strode into the school and asked where the teacher was located. Kid had no intention of coming out of the building alive. He had already decided that there would be no Saturday morning for him. FRIDAY THE 13th was the end of the road. ( ._.)

Depends on how they go about the control, there's a lot of people who do legally have guns when they really don't need to be in their hands. Someone did post before we could have much more intricate background checks which will be a great help. A lot of murders like the Renisha McBride killing comes to mind concerning this, not everyone needs to be in possession of a gun. But how do we defend the ones who aren't armed?

I would like to see more info about the shooter to find a trend. There may have been signs that the shooter exhibited that may have been ignored that led up to this.

Background checks is one of the main issues. It is a complex problem that can't have a blanket solution. Dealing with mass shooting vs. what happened to Renisha Mcbride...Dude was an idiot, a lot of issues with that situation are unfortunate and caused a tragedy to happen...Background checks won't stop someone who can pass, but have horrible judgement, or that are racist. Nothing is going to completely stop violence from happening.

Usually the news never follows up on the perpetrator and identifies any specific mental illness that the person may have. So who knows what could have been going on with the person mentally.

In some cases yes, in some cases the shooter is alive to be examined and they do have issues when they look into the life of the shooter. Some have a clear history of problems. Saying that mental health is a factor is not to say, all mentally ill are dangerous. It is saying that it is indeed a factor that becomes more of an issue in certain situations. This is with mass shootings, it goes beyond person on person violence to someone going to a school and shooting multiple people because they can't handle something.

Mental illness is not a scapegoat but it is something that needs to be addressed, especially in our community. Half the time it's brushed off like it's not a big deal when it is.

For the Sandy Hook shooter, the news for a brief period actually tried to claim that he had ADHD. ADHD is linked to impulsive behavior but the guy who did this planned it for a while so that couldn't have been it. So it's not out of the ordinary for the news to lie for their agenda.

Stress Pandemic: Millions Of Americans Are Starting To Crack

Has you felt like people are getting a lot edgier? More nervous? More fearful, depressed and just plain nuts?
Me too – and as it turns out, people really are going bats:
“As a doctor, I can tell you that stress has reached pandemic levels, though many still hold back from admitting it to themselves or their peers. Our normalcy bias prevents us from taking notice that tens of millions of people in Western countries are dropping like flies from illness, depression and self-destruction. I came across this article by David Kupelian on Americans’ health and agreed with some of the observations made about the dire state of affairs:
  • Suicide has surpassed car crashes as the leading cause of injury death for Americans. Even more disturbing, in “the world’s greatest military”, more U.S. soldiers died last year by suicide than in combat.
  • Fully one-third of U.S. employees suffer chronic debilitating stress, and more than half of all “millennials” (18 to 33 year olds) experience a level of stress that keeps them awake at night, including large numbers diagnosed with depression or anxiety disorder.
  • Shocking new research from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that one in five high-school-aged children in the U.S. has been diagnosed with ADHD, and likewise a large new study of New York City residents shows, sadly, that one in five preteens – children aged six to 12 – have been medically diagnosed with either ADHD, anxiety, depression or bipolar disorder.
  • New research concludes that stress renders people susceptible to serious illness, and a growing number of studies now confirm that chronic stress plays a major role in the progression of cancer, the nation’s second-biggest killer. The biggest killer of all, heart disease, which causes one in four deaths in the U.S., is also known to have a huge stress component.
  • Incredibly, 11 percent of all Americans aged 12 and older are currently taking SSRI antidepressants – those highly controversial, mood-altering psychiatric drugs with the FDA’s “suicidality” warning label and alarming correlation with school shooters. Women are especially prone to depression, with a stunning 23 percent of all American women in their 40s and 50s – almost one in four – now taking antidepressants, according to a major study by the CDC.
  • Add to that the tens of millions of users of all other types of psychiatric drugs, including (just to pick one) the 6.4 million American children between 4 and 17 diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed Ritalin or similar psycho-stimulants. Throw in the 28 percent of American adults with a drinking problem, that’s more than 60 million, plus the 22 million using illegal drugs like marijuana, cocaine, heroin, hallucinogens and inhalants, and pretty soon a picture emerges of a nation of drug-takers, with hundreds of millions dependent on one toxic substance or another – legal or illegal – to “help” them deal with the stresses and problems of life.
Likewise, the CDC has reported that antidepressant use in the U.S. has increased nearly 400 percent in the last two decades, making antidepressants the most frequently used class of medications by Americans aged 18-44. The U.S. population makes up 5% of the world population, yet are prescribed two-thirds of all psychiatric drugs used worldwide. If this is not a sign of looming mental health collapse, I don’t know what is!
With so many people on meds, I think we can basically say that the U.S. is a ‘zombie nation’. People are so out of touch with themselves and with reality that they think they have to use anti-depressants in order to ‘go back to normal’, not realizing that the reason why reality is shytty is because it is sending them a strong signal to sit up and take notice. Instead, taking mind-numbing drugs makes them even more ignorant of what is going on around them – the false-flag attacks, the fireballs raining down from the sky and Earth changes (read the rest)”
In the rest of the article, Dr. Segura makes some good suggestions on how you can deal with the ravages of stress without resorting to drugs and alcohol. For me, fear is a good motivator, though it can sometimes be overwhelming to think about the future and imagine how my children are going to get through the dark days ahead.
Gardening is my outlet. Rows of vegetables, buckets of corn and piles of sweet potatoes bring comfort, as does simply working on something beautiful in the outdoors.
What’s your relief for stress? Leave a comment and let me know. Unless you’re too afraid.

I'm hearing on local radio (unconfirmed reports, just students calling in) that the targeted man was the leader of the speech and debate team, and that the alleged shooter was kicked out of his class last week for some reason. :smh:
