this is the one thing Barack NEEDS to go extremely PROGRESSIVE on...with the other issues domestically I have given up a bit on that....but I think he understands he needs to be extremely progressive with this...

Sandy Hook was the absolute worst. If that didn't change anything nothing will. Actually now that I think about it, the only major gun reform that occurred was when the Black Panthers started getting guns in the 1960s and 70s. It was the only time when the NRA wanted tighter gun control.

ive given up hope that barack is the progressive savior we all expected. even in his second term he's legislated safely. he's so scared of the right wing i don't see it happening unless something ridiculous happens. and then the repubs won't give a fukk and never agree to a bill limiting gun rights.

this is something that has to happen on the local level and then force the national govt to make a stance, like marijuana is right now. in the next presidential cycle i could see real drug reform happening, especially as more states decriminalize and legalize.

That shyt is nothing more than a distraction, and meant to make suburban white people feel safe. The vast majority of gun crime happens with hand guns, not autos.

If you want to cut gun crime you gotta get rid of the illegal guns that are flooding inner cities. Black people aren't bringing guns into Chicago, that shyt is happening in cac states like Indiana - they bring guns from those states into Illinois. It's illegal trafficking, that's what needs to be stopped...

the president getting on tv and putting pressure on congress to really make something happen is what he can do. case and point, the pope, he's bringing income inequality to the forefront just by talking about it. imagine if obama gave a 07 obama-like speech about gun control and kept on about it for months on end. they'd have no option but to do something.

you cant stop the flow of legal or illegal guns, the demand is too high. for every person we catch, a hundred more sales happen.
